How long does the SMX1500RMI2U run on battery?
17 minutes at 50% load, i.e. 600 W, and 10 minutes at 70%, i.e. 840 W. A full recharge then takes only 3 hours.
Why does this 1500 VA unit give 1200 W?
Thanks to a power factor of 0.8: 1500 × 0.8 = 1200 W actually available. A desktop UPS at 0.55 would provide only 825 for the same rated power — the usable margin is much wider.
Are all the outlets on the SMX1500RMI2U battery-backed?
Yes: eight C13 outlets and two IEC jumpers, all powered by the battery. Input is via a C14 inlet, with a 1.83 m cord.
Can the SMX1500RMI2U be installed in a rack or as a tower?
Both: a convertible chassis 89 mm high, 432 wide and 490 mm deep, weighing 24.9 kg. The rack mounting rails and removable feet are included.
Over what voltage range does the SMX1500RMI2U's AVR operate?
Between 160 and 286 V, at a frequency auto-sensed at 50 or 60 Hz ±3 Hz. As long as the mains stays within it, the battery is not used and remains fully charged for real outages.
What is in the SMX1500RMI2U box?
The rack mounting rails, removable feet for upright installation, an RS-232 cable, the installation guide and the CDs. Both installation formats are therefore covered with no accessory to order.
Is the SMX1500RMI2U quiet enough for a shared room?
