Is a single USB-C cable enough between my laptop and the ThinkVision P27QD-40?
Yes, if the laptop's USB-C port supports video in DisplayPort mode. This single cable then carries the image, the hub's data and the Ethernet network connection, while charging the computer at up to 140 W. The USB-C to USB-C cable is included in the box.
What if my laptop does not support video over USB-C?
You then connect it via HDMI 2.1 or DisplayPort 1.4, and the computer keeps using its own charger. To still use the hub, there is the supplied USB-A to USB-B cable, which activates the monitor's USB ports independently of the video connection.
Can I control two computers with a single keyboard on the P27QD-40?
Yes: the monitor has a built-in KVM switch, with the eKVM feature. One machine connects via USB-C, the other via the USB-B upstream port, and the same keyboard, mouse and monitor switch from one to the other. PIP and PBP modes also let you display both sources together.
Can a second monitor be daisy-chained from the ThinkVision P27QD-40?
Yes, thanks to its DisplayPort 1.4 output: a second monitor connects to the first one, without using up a second video output on the computer. The DisplayPort input also supports DSC compression, which lightens the high-resolution signal.
Are the P27QD-40's colours factory calibrated?
Yes: each monitor is calibrated to an average Delta E below 2, in both the sRGB and DCI-P3 spaces, and the calibration report is included in the box. The panel covers 98% of DCI-P3, 99% of sRGB and 99% of BT.709, with 1.07 billion colours.
Does the P27QD-40 give the laptop wired network access?
Yes, through its RJ45 port, which supports up to 2.5 Gbps. A laptop without an Ethernet port therefore gets a wired connection as soon as it is plugged in via USB-C, which remains more stable than congested Wi-Fi in a shared office.
How many USB ports does the P27QD-40's hub provide?
Four 5 Gbps USB-A ports, one of which supports BC 1.2 fast charging, and one 5 Gbps USB-C port delivering 15 W for an accessory. Two upstream ports — one USB-C and one USB-B — let you connect two different machines to it.
Does the ThinkVision P27QD-40 stand allow portrait mode?
Yes: tilt, swivel, pivot and height. The monitor goes from 384.1 to 539.1 mm in height, i.e. 155 mm of travel, and pivots to vertical to display a whole page. A VESA 100 mm mount is also provided, with the panel alone weighing 4.6 kg compared with 6.8 kg with the stand.
Does the P27QD-40 have speakers or a webcam?
They are modular: the camera and the soundbar attach to the monitor and are sold separately. The microphone is not built in either. The monitor can also take a ThinkCentre M Tiny series PC mounted directly at the back.
What do you gain by moving from Full HD to QHD on 27 inches?
The 2560 x 1440 resolution gives 109 pixels per inch here, compared with around 82 for a Full HD display of the same diagonal: text is sharper and two windows fit side by side without shrinking the characters. The IPS panel reaches 350 cd/m², with a 1500:1 contrast ratio and a refresh rate of 24 to 120 Hz.
How much power does the ThinkVision P27QD-40 monitor use?
15.5 W in normal use and up to 200 W maximum, this ceiling including the 140 W sent to the laptop while it charges. The power supply is built into the chassis, with no external brick, and the Smart Power feature dynamically distributes power between the connected devices.
Does this Lenovo monitor protect your eyes over long days?
It is TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort 5-star and Eyesafe Display 2.0 certified, with Natural Low Blue Light hardware reduction, which is always on and free of colour shift. The surface has an anti-glare treatment, and the side bezels measure only 2 mm.
What is the warranty on the ThinkVision P27QD-40 monitor?
