Frequently asked questions about this product

Which devices does the base of this SDW 5065 connect?
Two: the desk phone and the computer or softphone, both handled from the same headset. That is the dual connectivity of the SDW 5065 — the 5066 version adds the mobile phone.
What battery life can you expect depending on the audio quality selected?
14 h in narrowband, 12 h in density-optimised wideband, 11.5 h in wideband, 9 h in super-wideband. The wider the bandwidth, the more natural the voice sounds and the harder the battery works.
How much freedom of movement do you have around the base station?
180 m in line of sight, 55 m in a typical office building. Transmission power adjusts automatically to the distance between the headset and its base.
How long does it take to recharge the headset?
30 minutes for half the battery and 1 h 30 for a full charge. The headset rests on its base between two rounds of calls, and its battery is replaceable by after-sales service.
What does the dual microphone of this SDW 5065 bring?
Two digital MEMS mics with noise reduction, plus own-voice detection: the headset can tell what comes from you and what comes from the open-plan floor, and transmits only your speech.
Why choose the stereo version of this DECT headset?
Because the two earpieces reduce ambient noise and let you concentrate fully on the call. The trade-off is that you hear your team less well: it is as much an organisational choice as a matter of comfort.
How do you let others know you are on a call?
With the headset's “busy” light, which comes on during calls and conferences. A desk busy light, to stand on the work surface, is also available as an accessory.
Can several headsets join the same call?
Yes, up to four headsets from the SDW 5000 range on the same base station. The conference is set up in a few seconds, without going through the switchboard.
Do conversations stay confidential on this DECT headset?
Pairing is protected, authentication uses 128-bit keys and the link is DECT Security certified: pairing data cannot be intercepted over the air.
Is this headset also suitable for listening to music?
Yes: music mode covers 20 Hz to 20 kHz in stereo, through neodymium drivers. On calls, super-wideband reaches 11.5 kHz, well beyond the usual telephone band.
Are your ears protected against acoustic shock?
Yes, by ActiveGard: the sound pressure level does not exceed 118 dB, whatever peaks come down the line. A limiter compliant with European regulations can also be enabled.
Is this EPOS IMPACT SDW 5065 new and under warranty?
Yes, new in its original packaging with its base station, power supply and USB cable. Your invoice serves as the warranty document and covers 1 year for reference 1001023. The manufacturer's document for the SDW 5000 range details all the measurements.
