Does this SDW 5036 handle the desk phone, the PC and the mobile together?
Yes, that is its triple connectivity: the base station connects the desk phone, the computer or softphone and the mobile phone, all reachable from the same headset, without replugging anything.
Why a single earpiece on this high-end model?
To keep one ear on your surroundings: you hear the team, a visitor, a colleague speaking to you. It is the format chosen for reception desks and shared open-plan floors.
What battery life does this headset offer depending on the audio mode?
14 h in narrowband, 12 h in density-optimised wideband, 11.5 h in wideband and 9 h in super-wideband, with 44 h on standby. The wider the sound, the harder the battery works.
How far can you move away with this SDW 5036?
180 m in open space and 55 m in an office building. On a partitioned floor, the second figure is the one that counts — it still gives you enough to cross the floor while staying on the call.
Is recharging quick between two rounds of calls?
Yes: 50% battery in 30 minutes on the base. The lithium-polymer battery is also replaceable by after-sales service, which extends the headset's life accordingly.
How does the mic tell my voice apart from ambient noise?
With two noise-reducing microphones combined with own-voice detection: the system recognises the user's speech and rejects the rest, including nearby conversations.
Which platforms is this SDW 5036 certified for?
It is UC optimised and certified for Webex, Avaya, Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise and Enreach — the standards found in contact centres and in SMEs equipped with business telephony.
How do you signal that you do not want to be disturbed?
The headset has a busy light that comes on as soon as you are on a call, and the soft faux-leather ear cushions reduce the noise reaching you. The two work together against interruptions.
Is the wireless link protected against eavesdropping?
Pairing is protected, authentication relies on 128-bit keys and the link carries DECT Security certification. Pairing, the most exposed link in any wireless system, is the first thing to be locked down.
Can several headsets join the same call?
Yes, up to four headsets from the range on the same base station: this is how you set up a second listener or train a new agent without additional equipment.
100 g on one ear only: is it comfortable?
That is the stated weight of this monaural version — noticeably less than the 136 g of the binaural version in the same range. The ear cushion is made of soft faux leather and rests on the ear.
Is this EPOS IMPACT SDW 5036 new and under warranty?
