Frequently asked questions about this product

Does the JBL Boombox 3 deliver the same power on battery as on mains?
No, and the difference is significant. On mains power, it delivers 180 W RMS (80 W subwoofer, 2 x 40 W midrange, 2 x 10 W tweeter). On battery, it drops to 136 W (60 W, 2 x 30 W, 2 x 8 W). For a party where volume matters, it is best to keep it plugged in.
How long does the Boombox 3 play and how long does it take to recharge?
Up to 24 hours of listening depending on volume and content, from a 72.6 Wh lithium-ion polymer battery (7.26 V / 10,000 mAh). The trade-off for this reserve: a full recharge takes 6 h 30, so plan it the day before an event.
How is the three-way system of the Boombox 3 built?
In stages: a dedicated subwoofer, two midrange drivers and two tweeters, each on its own band, covering 40 Hz to 20 kHz with a signal-to-noise ratio above 80 dB. It is this separation that allows deep bass without muddying the vocals.
Can two phones connect to the Boombox 3 at the same time?
Yes: up to two smartphones or tablets stay connected simultaneously and take turns controlling the music. No more disconnecting every time a guest wants to play their track.
Can you take the JBL Boombox 3 to the pool or the beach?
Yes, it is IP67 certified: the 6 stands for full protection against dust — and therefore sand — and the 7 for temporary immersion in water. Its front fabric is also stated to be waterproof and dustproof.
Can the Boombox 3 charge a phone?
Yes, through its USB-A port, which delivers 5 V / 2 A maximum. With a 72.6 Wh internal battery, topping up a phone at the end of the day barely eats into the remaining hours of music.
How do you carry the 6.7 kg JBL Boombox 3?
By its metal handle, fitted with silicone grips that stop the edge from digging into your hand. Allow for 482.4 x 256.9 x 199.7 mm and 6.7 kg net: it can be carried in one hand over short distances, with two hands beyond that.
Can the Boombox 3 be linked to other JBL speakers?
Yes, with PartyBoost: two compatible speakers pair in stereo, or several can be linked to cover a larger space. The Bluetooth connection is version 5.3, with the A2DP 1.3 and AVRCP 1.6 profiles.
What is in the JBL Boombox 3 box?
The speaker, the 2 m power cord (plug varies by region), the quick start guide, the safety sheet and the warranty card. The packaging itself is made of recyclable paper, inner tray included, printed with soy ink.
