Is the JBL Boombox 4 as powerful on battery as on mains power?
Almost: plugged in, it delivers 2 x 65 W for the bass and 2 x 40 W for the treble; on battery, the bass drops to 2 x 60 W, with the treble unchanged. The gap is much smaller than on previous generations.
Does the Boombox 4 last 28 or 34 hours?
28 hours of normal listening, and 6 hours more with JBL Playtime Boost, making 34 in total, depending on the volume and content. A full recharge takes 3 hours on a 99.02 Wh battery.
What are the two Bass Boost modes of the Boombox 4 for?
For choosing the character of the bass: one press of the button on top activates Deep Bass mode — the JBL logo lights up orange — for deep bass; two presses switch to Punchy Bass, with a white logo, tighter and punchier.
How is the sound of the JBL Boombox 4 built?
Around two woofers, two tweeters and three passive radiators, for a range that goes down to 37 Hz and up to 20 kHz, with a signal-to-noise ratio above 80 dB. AI Sound Boost adjusts the sound in real time.
Is the battery of the Boombox 4 replaceable?
Yes, in three simple steps: the rechargeable battery can be removed and replaced to get the speaker back to full capacity. It is sold separately, which means you can count on the speaker for several years rather than for the lifespan of a single battery.
What can the Boombox 4 withstand outdoors?
It is IP68: waterproof and dustproof, enough to cope with rain as well as a knocked-over glass. At 5.89 kg for 506.4 x 262.9 x 212.9 mm, it is also lighter than the previous generation.
What does the USB-C port on the Boombox 4 allow?
Lossless listening: when you connect a computer or a player, the signal arrives digitally instead of being compressed by Bluetooth. This requires a supported lossless source and audio service.
Can several JBL speakers be connected to the Boombox 4?
Yes: two Boombox 4 speakers pair in stereo via Auracast, and several compatible JBL speakers play the same playlist. The connection is Bluetooth 5.4, with the A2DP 1.4 and AVRCP 1.6 profiles.
What is in the JBL Boombox 4 carton?
The speaker, the 2 m mains cable (plug type and quantity depend on the region), the quick start guide, the safety sheet and the warranty card. Packed, it weighs 8.16 kg in a 565 x 345 x 256 mm carton.
Is the speaker new and covered by a warranty?
