Non-contractual photos

The visuals on this page are supplied by the manufacturer. They are frequently produced for a whole range — not for the exact model you are viewing: what you see in the photo is never a promise of what is included.

No exchange, return or cancellation will be accepted on the grounds that something seen in a photo (accessory, port, colour, keyboard layout, packaging…) is not found on the delivered product. Only the specifications written on the page are binding for the order.

What the image does not guarantee:

  • Keyboard : manufacturers' images are international: our computers ship with an AZERTY (French) keyboard, even when the photo shows a QWERTY one.
  • Visible features : a fingerprint reader, backlit keyboard, webcam, numeric keypad or card reader glimpsed in the image are not necessarily present on this exact reference.
  • Ports and connectors : the number, type and position of the ports (USB, USB-C, HDMI, RJ45) change from one configuration to another within a single photographed series.
  • Display : the image shown on the screen is a composite; resolution, touch panel and bezel thinness are those of the specifications.
  • Operating system : the Windows desktop visible in the photo implies neither a Windows licence nor an Office suite installed: the specifications state the system actually delivered.
  • Colour : one image often serves several colours, and the shade you see depends on studio lighting as much as on your screen settings; the colour sold is the one in the title and the specifications.
  • Props and accessories : the items shown around the product (cables, stands, decorative objects, content displayed on screen) are not included unless explicitly stated.
  • Packaging : boxes, labels and bundles change with the manufacturer's revisions: the packaging delivered may differ from the one in the photo.

What is binding: the product title, this page's technical specifications, the description and, when provided, the manufacturer's PDF datasheet available in the downloads.

Frequently asked questions about this product

How good is the Liquid Retina XDR display on this MacBook Pro 16-inch M5 Max 36 GB Silver?
It is a 16.2-inch mini-LED panel at 3456 × 2234, capable of 1,600 nits peak on HDR content, with ProMotion: the refresh rate adapts up to 120 Hz according to what is on screen, which makes scrolling smoother while saving battery.
What battery life is quoted for this MacBook Pro 16-inch M5 Max 36 GB Silver?
Up to 24 hours, from a 100 Wh battery — the maximum capacity allowed in an aircraft cabin. This is Apple's reference figure: a day of 3D rendering, which puts the 40 GPU cores to work, uses considerably more.
How good is the M5 Max chip in this MacBook Pro 16-inch M5 Max 36 GB Silver?
It combines an 18-core CPU and a 40-core GPU — twice that of an M5 Pro — with a 16-core Neural Engine dedicated to AI. It is workstation power in a chassis you can carry around.
Does this MacBook Pro 16-inch M5 Max 36 GB Silver have an SD card reader?
Yes, an SDXC reader is built into the chassis: you can offload the card from a camera or camcorder directly, with no adapter or external reader. It is joined by three Thunderbolt 5 ports, an HDMI output and MagSafe 3.
What do the 36 GB of memory bring to this MacBook Pro 16-inch M5 Max 36 GB Silver?
Headroom for heavy use: video editing, lots of open tabs, virtual machines or AI models run locally. This memory is unified — shared by the CPU, the GPU and the Neural Engine — with no intermediate copying.
How do you unlock this MacBook Pro 16-inch M5 Max 36 GB Silver?
With Touch ID, the fingerprint reader built into the backlit AZERTY Magic Keyboard. A single touch of your finger logs you in, approves a purchase or fills in a saved password, without typing anything.
Which charger comes with this MacBook Pro 16-inch M5 Max 36 GB Silver?
A 140 W USB-C power adapter: charging goes through the MagSafe 3 magnetic connector, which detaches if someone trips over the cable rather than dragging the laptop with it, and leaves the Thunderbolt ports free for peripherals.
Is the camera on this MacBook Pro 16-inch M5 Max 36 GB Silver suitable for video calls?
Yes: a 12 MP Center Stage camera that keeps you centred in the frame as you move. Six speakers with Dolby Atmos spatial audio complete the set-up, with no external device needed.
How much does this MacBook Pro 16-inch M5 Max 36 GB Silver weigh?
2.15 kg, in an aluminium chassis — a material that stands up to daily travel better than plastic. That is the weight of the complete machine, display and ports included.
Is this MacBook Pro 16-inch M5 Max 36 GB Silver new and ready to use?
Yes, it is new and sealed, with the purchase invoice serving as the warranty document. It comes with a 2 TB SSD and a recent wireless card: all you need to do is sign in with an Apple Account to get started.
