One key, and the announcement
goes ahead of the music.

The PLE-1SCS is the heavy-duty call station of the Plena range: a unidirectional dynamic microphone at the end of a 390 mm gooseneck, on a heavy metal base. Press the key, the green LED lights up, and the voice goes into the PA system.

Momentary or toggle

The PTT key works in two ways. In momentary mode, the microphone stays open as long as the key is held; in toggle mode, one press opens the microphone and a second one closes it, which frees the hand during a long announcement. In both cases, it also closes a priority contact compatible with Plena amplifiers, which puts the voice ahead of the background music.

A single cable to the amplifier

The fixed 2 m cable ends in a locking 5-pin Euro connector, which carries the balanced voice signal and the priority contact. The call station has no power adapter: it takes its 12 to 48 V phantom power from the amplifier. Where priority is not needed, a 3-pin Euro connector is enough for the audio signal alone.

The base sits on the counter on its rubber feet, or is flush-mounted in the worktop of a reception desk. The base measures 100 mm wide, 235 mm deep and 40 mm high.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Which amplifier does the PLE-1SCS work with?
It is designed for Plena amplifiers and mixer amplifiers: its PTT key provides the priority contacts they expect, through the 5-pin Euro connector. It is powered by the amplifier's phantom power, between 12 and 48 V, and needs no power adapter.
What is the difference between momentary and toggle mode?
In momentary mode, the microphone stays open as long as the PTT key is held down, like a walkie-talkie. In toggle mode, one press opens the microphone and a second one closes it, which frees the hand during a long announcement. A green LED shows when the microphone is active.
Can it be used without a priority contact?
Yes. If the installation does not need priority, the call station connects through a 3-pin Euro connector that only carries the balanced audio signal. With the original 5-pin connector, it carries both the voice and the contact that puts the announcement ahead of the music.
Can it be flush-mounted in a reception desk?
Yes, its design allows flush mounting in a worktop. Placed on a surface, it stands on any flat surface thanks to its heavy metal base and rubber feet. The base is 235 mm deep and 100 mm wide, and the gooseneck is 390 mm including the microphone.
What cable length is supplied?
Two metres. The flexible cable, permanently attached to the call station, ends in a locking 5-pin Euro plug that carries both the balanced voice signal and the priority contact. The call station is therefore installed within 2 m of the amplifier, on a reception desk or a counter.
What are its audio specifications?
It is a unidirectional dynamic microphone with a 100 Hz to 15 kHz response, a sensitivity of 1.2 mV/Pa and an output impedance of 500 ohms. It accepts up to 110 dB SPL input with less than 0.6 % distortion, and its equivalent noise is 25 dB SPL(A).
