The PRA628MKII is a flat-profile instrument dynamic microphone. Its flat grille and side-mounted capsule let it sit very close to the speaker of a guitar or bass amp.

A loud amp won't overload it

It handles up to 150 dB SPL and covers 80 Hz to 18 kHz, with an extended low end compared with the original PRA628. Its supercardioid pattern isolates the targeted source, reduces ambient sound and leaves headroom before feedback. A passive microphone, it connects over XLR with no phantom power.

Just as comfortable on toms

Its profile lets you bring the capsule close to a tom head. The HM12DA gooseneck drum clamp is supplied, along with an HM10 clip for a standard stand and a pouch; the microphone weighs 168 g.

No cable is supplied: plan for a female XLR to male XLR cable.

Yes, especially for toms: its flat profile lets you place the capsule very close to the head. The supplied HM12DA is a Superlux gooseneck drum clamp that points the microphone at the drum.
