The TM58S is a handheld cardioid dynamic microphone designed for speech and vocals. What sets it apart is an on/off switch on the body, with a locking position.

A clear voice, even pushed hard

Its dynamic capsule covers 50 Hz to 18 kHz and withstands up to 155 dB SPL: a singer holding the microphone right at the mouth will not push it to its limits. The cardioid pattern picks up first what is in front of the grille, and the capsule sits on a shock mount that limits hand noise while moving around.

Connected over XLR, no power needed

A passive microphone, it connects over XLR to a mixer, an active speaker or an audio interface, with no battery and no phantom power. The HM9A clip and the YA3 thread adapter are supplied to mount it on a stand; the metal body weighs 320 g.

No cable is supplied: plan for a female XLR to male XLR cable.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Does the TM58S need phantom power?
No. It is a passive dynamic microphone: it plugs over XLR into a mixer, an active speaker or an audio interface, with no phantom power and no battery. Once plugged in, just set the switch to on.
What is the difference between the TM58S and the TM58?
The TM58S has an on/off switch on the body, with a locking function. Otherwise, Superlux publishes a single specification sheet for both models: the same cardioid dynamic capsule, a response from 50 Hz to 18 kHz and 155 dB SPL handling.
Is an XLR cable supplied with the TM58S?
No. The box contains the microphone, an HM9A clip and a YA3 thread adapter (5/8" to 3/8") to mount it on a stand. Plan for a female XLR to male XLR cable to connect it to the mixer or the speaker.
Can the TM58S handle a powerful voice on stage?
Yes: it withstands up to 155 dB SPL and its cardioid pattern picks up first what is in front of it. Its capsule sits on a shock mount that limits handling noise when held in the hand.
What are the dimensions and weight of the TM58S?
51 mm in diameter and 163 mm long, for 320 g. The body is metal with a matte painted finish. Superlux specifies operation between -10 °C and +50 °C, at 0 to 95 % relative humidity.
