Description
Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 Aura Edition · 21V7008SFE
Under one kilo,
with an OLED screen in front of you.
A 14-inch business laptop in carbon fibre and magnesium, fitted with a Core Ultra 7 355, 32 GB of memory, a 1 TB SSD and a 2.8K OLED panel, running Windows 11 Pro. It is built for the manager who works on the move as much as at the office.
- 0.977 kgcarbon fibre lid, magnesium bottom
- 120 Hz2880 x 1800 OLED, 500 nits
- 80 %charge in one hour with the 65 W adapter
A panel that changes how you read
The OLED shows true blacks and covers the whole DCI-P3 colour space, certified DisplayHDR True Black 500. At 120 Hz, scrolling through a long spreadsheet or document stays sharp, and the anti-glare finish limits reflections in meeting rooms. The 16:10 format shows more lines than a 16:9 screen of the same width.
Three Thunderbolt 4 ports for everything
Two Thunderbolt 4 ports on the left, one on the right: each charges the machine and outputs video over DisplayPort 2.1. An HDMI 2.1 port connects a projector without an adapter, and the USB-A port stays powered to charge a phone while the computer is off.
Left side: HDMI 2.1, two Thunderbolt 4, headphone and mic jack.
Right side: Thunderbolt 4, USB-A, Kensington Nano security slot.- Materials
- Carbon and magnesium
- Microphones
- 2, 360° pickup

The 32 GB of memory is soldered and cannot be expanded, and the machine has no Ethernet port or card reader: a Thunderbolt dock or a USB-C adapter adds them.
Other business ultraportables are in the Laptops department, and the full range is on the Lenovo page.

Frequently asked questions about this product
How much does the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 14 weigh?
It weighs 0.977 kg for 312.5 x 215.75 mm and 17.6 mm at its thickest. The lid is made of carbon fibre and the bottom of magnesium, and the chassis has passed MIL-STD-810H military tests.
How good is the OLED display?
The 14-inch panel is a 2.8K OLED of 2880 x 1800 pixels in 16:10 format. It reaches 500 nits, covers 100% of DCI-P3 and runs up to 120 Hz with variable refresh. It is DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified and has an anti-glare finish. It is not a touch screen.
Does this processor handle Windows AI features?
Yes: the Intel Core Ultra 7 355 includes an NPU that reaches up to 49 TOPS. The machine is classed as a Copilot+ PC: Windows 11 local AI features run on this NPU and spare the battery. The processor has 8 cores and boosts up to 4.7 GHz.
Can more RAM be added later?
No: the 32 GB of LPDDR5X-7467 is soldered to the motherboard, with no free slot. That is the price of the thinness and high frequency of this memory. 32 GB is enough for heavy office work, video calls and many tabs open at once.
Can the SSD be replaced with a larger one?
Yes: the 1 TB SSD uses the M.2 2280 format, in a PCIe 5.0 x4 slot. The machine takes a single drive, up to 2 TB. The supplied SSD supports Opal 2.0 hardware encryption.
Which ports are available?
There are 3 Thunderbolt 4 ports in USB-C form, which charge the computer and output video over DisplayPort 2.1. They are joined by 1 USB-A 5 Gbps port powered even when off and 1 HDMI 2.1 up to 4K at 60 Hz. A headphone and mic jack completes the set. There is no Ethernet port or card reader: a Thunderbolt dock or a USB-C adapter adds them.
What is the battery capacity and does it charge quickly?
The battery is 58 Wh. With the supplied 65 W USB-C adapter, Rapid Charge reaches 80% in one hour, with the computer off or asleep. Actual battery life depends on brightness and the applications open.
How does it unlock securely?
Two password-free methods: the fingerprint reader built into the power button, and the infrared camera for Windows Hello face recognition. A discrete TPM 2.0 chip protects the encryption keys, and a shutter covers the webcam.
Is the keyboard AZERTY and backlit?
Yes: the keyboard is French AZERTY and backlit. It has 6 rows, resists spills and offers 1.5 mm of key travel. The red TrackPoint in the centre lets you move the cursor without leaving the home row.
