Security: WPA3, guest Wi-Fi, parental control
The gaming version of the RG-EW3000GX, with a stronger signal.
Reyee · RG-EW3000GX PRO
Wi-Fi 6 tuned for online gaming
The gaming version of the RG-EW3000GX: the same Wi-Fi 6 AX3000 base with dual WAN, Reyee Mesh and a VPN server, plus five external signal amplifiers, 6 dBi antennas on 5 GHz and the GameFast gaming engine. For a home where people play, stream and work at the same time.
This is what sets it apart from the RG-EW3000GX. With five external signal amplifiers, it transmits up to 26 dBm on 5 GHz at base rates, against 21.5 dBm for the standard version: 4.5 dB more, nearly three times the power. At the highest Wi-Fi 6 rate the gap is still 2.5 dB (19 versus 16.5 dBm), and antenna gain rises from 5.5 to 6 dBi. The power actually radiated remains capped by the radio regulations of the country of use.
The same router serves the gamer, the children and whoever works from home. Here is what each one gets.
The GameFast engine spots online gaming traffic and sends it ahead of everything else; on the Wi-Fi side, QoS puts these packets in the highest-priority queue. So that a big download does not eat all the bandwidth during a match, speed can be capped device by device, or shared according to the number of connected users. A living-room console can also be wired into one of the Gigabit ports.
Parental control holds up to 32 rules for 32 devices: cut-off at set times, filtering by MAC address, or blocking a device picked from the list of connected ones. Visitors get their own guest Wi-Fi, the main network name can be hidden and a blocklist keeps out up to 64 devices. Encryption goes up to WPA3.
From outside, the router stays reachable through a stable host name thanks to dynamic DNS (Ruijie DDNS or No-IP). It acts as a VPN server: up to 8 OpenVPN connections at once, or 30 over PPTP. Expect 13 Mbit/s over OpenVPN: enough to fetch a folder or check a camera, not for heavy use. Fifty port forwarding rules round it off.
The WAN port and the WAN/LAN port each take an Internet subscription, and their speeds are aggregated. For the upstairs bedroom, another Reyee router meshes with this one over Reyee Mesh 3.0: the link between them runs over a cable or over the air, and the router switches between the two on its own. Two hops are recommended, and meshing is limited to Reyee devices.
Don't need that extra transmit power? The RG-EW3000GX keeps the same dual WAN, the same mesh and the same VPN, without external amplifiers. To move to Wi-Fi 7, see the RG-EW7200BE PRO. Other models are in the Wi-Fi routers section.
