How long does the 5SC 750 run on battery?
13 minutes at half load and 9 minutes at 70%. That is comfortable for a 750 VA unit: enough time to shut down a workstation or a small server cleanly, without rushing.
Is the output of the 5SC 750 a pure sine wave?
Yes, and that is rare on a line-interactive UPS: in battery mode, the 5SC delivers a pure sine wave, suited to sensitive equipment and in particular to servers whose power supplies have a corrected form factor.
Are the 5SC 750's batteries easy to replace?
Yes, through the front panel: there is no need to take the unit apart or remove it from where it sits. It contains two sealed 12 V / 7 Ah lead-acid batteries.
Why does 750 VA only give 525 W?
The power factor is 0.7: 750 × 0.7 = 525 W actually available. That is better than the 0.5 to 0.6 of desktop UPSs, but it is indeed this figure in watts that you need to compare with your equipment.
What does the 5SC 750's regulator correct?
A boost and buck circuit regulates wide input voltage fluctuations without needlessly draining the battery, over a range of 184 to 276 V. ABM management also charges the batteries only when necessary.
Can the USB port and the serial port be used at the same time?
No, both are present but they do not work simultaneously. The USB port is HID-compliant: it is recognised automatically under Windows, macOS and Linux, with no driver to install.
How much space does the 5SC 750 take up, and what is in the box?
150 × 340 × 210 mm and 10.4 kg, in tower format. The box contains a USB cable, a serial cable, two IEC-IEC cords, the quick start guide and the safety instructions.
Is the Eaton 5SC 750I new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. It has six C13 outlets with a C14 inlet, stays below 40 dBA — so it can stay in an office — and shows the status and estimated runtime on its LCD screen.
