How long does the SMT1000RMI2UC run on battery?
31 minutes at 50% load, i.e. 350 W, and 17 minutes at 70%, i.e. 490 W. That is one of the best runtimes in its category for a 1000 VA rack-mount UPS.
What does this model's SmartConnect feature do?
It lets you monitor the UPS from a web browser, over a cloud connection: status, alerts and reports, all remotely, with no monitoring server to install. This is what the final “C” in the part number stands for.
What outlets does the SMT1000RMI2UC have?
Four C13 outlets and two IEC jumpers, all powered by the battery, with a C14 inlet. The box contains the rack-mount rails, a USB cable and the guide.
Over what voltage range does the AVR operate?
Between 160 and 286 V by default, adjustable from 151 to 302 V. As long as the mains stays within this window, the battery is not used.
Why does 1000 VA only give 700 W?
The power factor is 0.7: 700 W actually available. That is above the 0.5 to 0.6 of desktop UPSs, but a rack is sized in watts, never in VA.
