Product overview

A professional tower UPS for servers, with cloud monitoring: line-interactive with voltage regulation, 3000 VA / 2700 W and SmartConnect.
Technology & protection: it switches to battery the moment the power fails, absorbs surges and continuously corrects voltage fluctuations without using the battery, with a pure sine wave.

Frequently asked questions about this product

How long does the SMT3000IC run on battery?
17 minutes at 50% load, i.e. 1350 W, and 10 minutes at 70%, i.e. 1890 W. A full recharge then takes only 3 hours.
How can a line-interactive UPS offer 2700 W from 3000 VA?
Its power factor of about 0.9 turns almost all of the apparent power into watts. A desktop UPS at 0.55 would offer only 1650 for the same rating: sizing is done in watts.
Are all the SMT3000IC's outlets battery-backed?
Yes: eight C13 outlets, one heavy-duty C19 outlet and two IEC jumpers. The input is a C20 inlet, also heavy-duty — the power cord is not the one used by a desktop UPS.
Can the UPS be shut off in an emergency?
Yes, an emergency power off (EPO) switch is built in: in one move, it cuts power to everything that is plugged in. This is a common requirement in a regulated technical room.
How do you monitor the SMT3000IC remotely?
Through the SmartConnect cloud connection, accessible from a web browser, and through a free SmartSlot that accepts an optional network card. A USB cable is included for local management.
How much space does the SMT3000IC take up, and how much does it weigh?
19.7 cm wide, 54.4 cm deep and 43.5 cm high, weighing 52.5 kg. It is a heavy tower unit: it must stand on the floor, and it takes two people to move it.
Is the SMT3000IC's output a pure sine wave?
Yes, the output is sinusoidal, synchronised with the mains at 50/60 Hz ± 3 Hz. Transfer to battery takes 6 milliseconds at half load, 10 maximum.
Is the APC Smart-UPS SMT3000IC new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. It is rated at 53 dBA: at that level, it is better installed in a technical room than next to a workstation occupied all day. The datasheet covers the rest.
