Are the wired ports on this TP-Link router Gigabit?

No: the WAN port and the 4 LAN ports run at 10/100 Mbps. If your subscription is faster than 100 Mbps, the port will limit the speed, not the line.

What area can this TL-WR845N router cover?

TP-Link states coverage designed for a two-bedroom home, with 3 fixed 5 dBi antennas. Beyond that, you will need a repeater.

Can this router be used as a Wi-Fi repeater?

Yes: it offers four modes — router, access point, repeater and WISP. So you can repurpose it as a repeater if you change your ISP router.
