3 years manufacturer's warranty

This product is covered for 3 years by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

A problem with your product? Don't worry: contact us by phone, WhatsApp or e-mail. Depending on the brand, we direct you either straight to the repairer appointed by the brand to fix your product, or to us — and we take care of the rest.

  • If a repair is possible, it is carried out free of charge.
  • If the product cannot be repaired, the brand offers an exchange for another product.
  • If no product is available, a refund is issued as soon as the brand confirms it.

Frequently asked questions about this product

What exactly does the redundant power supply of the RS822RP+ cover?
Two 150 W units work in parallel: if one fails, or if a power cable is unplugged by mistake, the second keeps services running without interruption. This is what the “RP” in the model name stands for, and the only substantive difference from the RS822+.
Which drives should you plan for the RS822RP+?
Its four bays accept 3.5" SATA hard drives as well as 2.5" SATA SSDs, to be ordered separately: the NAS is supplied empty, like the whole RackStation range. This is the first item to budget for, as it determines the capacity and the final price.
Is the data on the RS822RP+ encrypted?
It has an AES-NI hardware encryption engine: encryption of shared folders is handled by the processor rather than by software, which avoids the collapse in throughput caused by purely software-based encryption.
Will four bays be enough on the RS822RP+?
It scales to eight drives with an RX418 expansion unit. Capacity doubles without changing the NAS or rebuilding the volumes in place — a point that matters on a chassis with only four bays.
What transfer speeds does the Synology RS822RP+ reach?
2,103 MB/s sequential read and 1,074 MB/s sequential write. The two figures go together: writing to a RAID-protected volume always costs more than reading. The processor is a 4-core, 2.2 GHz AMD Ryzen V1500B.
How can you expand the network or speed up the RS822RP+?
Four 1 GbE ports are built in and can be aggregated. One slot then accepts either a 10 GbE card, if bandwidth is the bottleneck, or an M.2 NVMe SSD cache card, if random access is.
Can the RS822RP+ memory be expanded?
Yes, from 2 to 32 GB of DDR4 ECC, as two 16 GB modules. ECC corrects the memory errors that would otherwise alter a file without warning — that is the difference between NAS RAM and ordinary RAM.
Can the RS822RP+ record surveillance cameras?
Yes, up to 40 IP cameras with Surveillance Station. In a 1U chassis for 19-inch racks, it then combines file server, backup target and network video recorder.
Is the Synology RS822RP+ new and under warranty?
New, part number RS822RPPLUS, in original Synology packaging, with a 3-year warranty, the invoice serving as the warranty document. The datasheet sets out all the specifications.
