Frequently asked questions about this product

How many speakers can you sync with the Sony SRS-XP700?
Up to 100, thanks to the Party Connect feature: music and lights are synchronised across all the connected compatible speakers. Enough to fill a whole hall or an event with sound, far beyond what a single speaker can cover.
Does the XP700 stand upright or lie flat?
Both, and it notices by itself: a sensor detects its orientation and optimises the sound accordingly. So you can stand it upright in a corner or lay it flat on a table without worrying about the settings.
What playtime is claimed for the Sony SRS-XP700?
25 hours on a full charge, and a 10-minute quick charge gives 3 hours of playback. A battery care function also prevents overcharging to preserve its capacity over time.
Can you plug a microphone or a guitar into the XP700?
Yes, it has two inputs: plug in a microphone for karaoke, or a guitar, with the speaker then acting as an amplifier. Both can be used at the same time for a duo performance.
Can the speaker charge a phone?
Yes, it has two USB charging ports: two devices can therefore be powered at the same time while the music keeps playing. A rear USB port also lets you play a USB flash drive directly.
How does the SRS-XP700 project its sound?
Omnidirectionally: front and rear tweeters and an X-Balanced Speaker Unit project sound throughout the room, in front of the speaker as well as behind it. The MEGA BASS function boosts the bass at the press of a button.
What is this speaker's LIVE SOUND mode for?
It recreates the atmosphere of a concert by widening the soundstage, bringing back the feel of a live recording. It is a processing mode to switch on depending on the track, alongside the ambient lighting and its selectable patterns.
Can you control everything from a phone?
Yes, with two apps: Sony Music Center for audio settings, music and choosing light patterns, and Fiestable for party features — creating and sharing playlists, karaoke.
Can the XP700 handle an outdoor party in the rain?
Yes, it is rated IPX4: splashes and a rain shower will not stop it. The X indicates that dust resistance has not been rated, and the rating does not cover immersion. A built-in handle makes it easy to move.
Is the speaker new and covered by a warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. Remember to enable the battery care function in the app: it is what limits overcharging and preserves capacity over time.
