How long does the 5SC 1000I run on battery?
12 minutes at 50% load, i.e. 350 W, and 8 minutes at 70%, i.e. 490 W. That is enough to shut down a workstation or a small server properly, without rushing.
Is the output of the 5SC 1000I a pure sine wave?
Yes, this is the hallmark of Eaton's professional 5SC range: a pure sine wave in battery mode, whereas most line-interactive units settle for a signal built up in steps.
Which outlets does the 5SC 1000I have?
Eight C13 outlets on the output — the format used on computer and server power cords — with a C14 input. That is generous for a 1000 VA unit: a complete workstation, a NAS and a switch will all fit.
Why do 1000 VA give only 700 W?
The power factor is 0.7: 1000 × 0.7 = 700 W actually available. That is above the 0.5 to 0.6 of desktop UPS units, but it is this wattage figure that you should compare with your equipment.
What does ABM battery management bring on this model?
It only recharges the battery when necessary, instead of keeping it on constant charge: this prevents plate corrosion and significantly extends its service life.
