Frequently asked questions about this product

Do you need a USB-C port to use this Blackwire 3310?
No. The headset ends in a USB-C plug, but a USB-C to USB-A adapter comes with the product: it connects to any computer, with or without a USB-C port.
Is there a driver to install before using it?
No, it is ready to use: plug it in and it works, on Windows 10 and macOS alike. That makes it an easy headset to deploy across several workstations without going through the IT department.
Which controls are on the cable?
Four: answer and hang up, mute the microphone, volume up and down. Everything is done without going back to the calling software, which saves you hunting for the Teams or Zoom window when someone speaks to you.
Why choose a single ear cup rather than two?
To keep one ear on the office: you hear your team, the phone ringing, someone coming over. It is the format chosen in departments where several people work in the same room.
Does the microphone filter out office noise?
Yes, the boom is noise-cancelling and adjustable: you place it as close as possible to your mouth, and it filters out what surrounds it so that the other party hears only your voice. It picks up 100 to 10,000 Hz.
Does this headset actively reduce ambient noise?
No, there is no active noise cancellation for listening: attenuation comes from the on-ear cushion resting on the ear. That is consistent with the mono format, designed to keep you attentive to what is happening around you.
103 g for a wired headset: can you wear it for a full day?
That is the stated weight, headband and cable included. With no battery or wireless electronics to carry, a wired headset stays in this weight class, and it rests on a single ear.
