How long does the Argus 1200 run on battery?
11 minutes 30 seconds at half load, i.e. 360 W, 6 minutes 35 seconds at 75% and 3 minutes at full load, at 720 W. With a light load of 180 W, it lasts over 24 minutes: the headroom you leave determines the runtime.
Is a line-interactive UPS with a pure sine wave common?
No, and that is the appeal of this model: its battery output is a pure sine wave, whereas most UPS units in this family settle for a stepped approximation to a sine wave. Switchover takes 4 milliseconds.
Are all four outlets on the Argus 1200 battery-backed?
Yes, all four C13 outlets are powered by the battery and protected against surges. Two RJ11/RJ45 ports also protect the phone or network line that passes through the unit.
Why do 1200 VA give only 720 W?
Because the power factor is 0.6: just over half of the apparent power is usable. So it is 720 W that you should compare with the combined consumption of your server and your network equipment.
Over what voltage range does the AVR on the Argus 1200 correct?
Between 165 and 290 V, with one boost stage and one buck stage. Within this range, the voltage is brought back to its normal value without switching to battery, which stays full for real power cuts.
Does the Argus 1200 mount in a rack or stand as a tower?
Both: it is a 2U convertible chassis, 88 mm high, 438 wide and 430 deep. It slides into a 19-inch cabinet or stands on the floor, depending on the space you have.
How do you monitor the Argus 1200?
Through a USB HID port and an RS-232 serial port, with the PowerGuide or PowerMaster software for monitoring and automatic shutdown. An intelligent slot accepts an SNMP card, to be ordered separately.
Does the Argus 1200 work when powered by a generator?
Yes, it is stated to be generator-compatible. It also has an emergency power-off (EPO), cold start on battery and charging that works even when the unit is switched off.
How long does the Argus 1200 take to recharge?
4 hours to get back to 90% of capacity, on two internal GP09122L batteries. It does not accept an external battery pack: its runtime is that of its original batteries.
Is the nJoy Argus 1200 UPS new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for a period of 3 years. It stays below 50 dB, shows the load and battery level on an LCD screen, and restarts by itself when power returns. The datasheet covers the rest.
