Frequently asked questions about this product
Does the Kraken V4 X connect to both a console and a phone?
Yes: its USB cable is convertible between Type-C and Type-A, which covers a tower, a console and a phone alike. The connection is digital, so there is no sound card to configure.
Does the mic tuck into the ear cup after a game?
Yes, it is retractable: you pull it out in one motion to talk, then push it back in flush with the ear cup. Its flexible neck lets you position it in front of your mouth, and its cardioid pickup keeps out room noise.
Does the Razer Kraken V4 X need charging?
No, there is no battery: the USB port powers it and carries the sound. No battery life to watch, no pairing to redo — that is the trade-off of a wired headset, in exchange for a cable to manage on the desk.
Does this headset offer surround sound?
Yes, 7.1 surround places sounds around you so you can tell where they come from. It relies on 40 mm TriForce drivers, whose diaphragm is divided into three distinct zones for highs, mids and lows.
Is this headset's lighting customisable?
Yes: Razer Chroma RGB lighting gives access to 16.8 million colours and syncs with more than 300 compatible games. It is a feature that runs on the computer, through Razer software.
Do the ear cushions get hot during a long game?
They are hybrid: fabric on one side, leatherette on the other, over memory foam. The fabric lets air through, the leatherette seals — Razer links this combination to good sound isolation through the fit alone.
Is the Razer Kraken V4 X headset new and under warranty?
Yes, new and genuine, with a 1-year warranty provided by the invoice. Keep it: it is all you need for any workshop repair.
More than 30 h of listening in total with the case, 7 h of that for the earbuds alone, and the case also recharges wirelessly. Simultaneous connection to two devices, and playback stops as soon as you take an earbud out.
•7 h of listening per charge, more than 30 h in total with the case
•Wireless charging case
•Multipoint: two devices connected at the same time
The JBL Headphones app tunes the equaliser to your taste, and Voice Aware lets you hear your own voice during a call. Connected to two devices at once, 220 g on the head, 76 hours of stated listening.
Two battery regimes: 10 h from the earbuds alone and 40 h in total with the case, noise cancelling on; 12 h and 48 h with it off. Ambient Aware and TalkThru let outside sounds back in.
The red light comes on as soon as you are on a call: your colleagues know not to interrupt you. Unidirectional boom microphone that folds up when not in use, and a 3.5 mm jack to connect a phone or tablet too.
One earcup swivels 90° to listen with a single ear and keep the other on the booth, the DJ's gesture. Response reaches 22 kHz and isolation stays tight: the same model moves from mixing to tracking to the booth.
The silicone ear hook with memory wire bends to any ear shape and stays put during exercise. 10.5 g per earbud, touch controls and Ambient Aware mode to stay aware of the road.
Three microphones per ear and wind-cutting processing keep the voice intelligible mid-run. Up to 12 h of listening from the earbuds with noise cancelling off, and 48 h in total with the case.
Swapping cables takes a second: 3 m straight in the studio, coiled in the field. The 40 mm drivers with neodymium magnets reach up to 24 kHz, and the ear cups swivel 90° for one-ear monitoring.
Two beamforming microphones on an extended boom filter out office noise during calls. Up to 20 h of listening or 16 h of talk time, and 5 minutes of charging gives back 1 h of call time.
More than 100 hours of wireless battery life, and recharging that does without a cable: just set it on a base. Foldable for long journeys, with an M button to customise from the app.
•More than 100 h of wireless battery life
•Wireless recharging on a base, or via the included USB-C cable

Two noise-cancelling microphones on an extended boom
Microsoft Teams certified, for calls and concentration in an open-plan office: noise-cancelling microphone, leatherette ear cushions that damp the background noise and an in-line controller for volume, calls and mute.
The red light comes on as soon as you are on a call: your colleagues know not to interrupt you. Unidirectional boom microphone that folds up when not in use, and a 3.5 mm jack to connect a phone or tablet too.
Wired business headset with HD sound: the noise-cancelling mic on a boom rotating through 270° keeps the hubbub out, and the dynamic equaliser switches by itself between calls and multimedia. Call and volume controls on the cord.
Volume and mute are set straight on the cable, with an indicator light as a reminder that the mic is off. Padded leatherette earpads and 2.4 m of cable to stand up during a call.
Light, with swivelling foam earpads and an adjustable headband: it can be worn for hours through online meetings. The swivelling noise-cancelling mic tucks into the headband once the call is over.
Laser-tuned drivers and a built-in equaliser: the stereo sound stays crisp and free of distortion, for calls as for music. The mic boom tucks into the headband when not in use.
Plugged into a USB port, it works with no driver to install. The microphone boom swivels through 270° to move from one ear to the other, and the in-line remote sets the volume and mutes the microphone.
Headband that extends 38 mm on each side and ultra-soft ear cushions: enough to sit through one video call after another. The microphone boom, on the left, adjusts finely and then swings out of the way when it is no longer needed.
For video meetings and everyday calls, in stereo: a noise-cancelling microphone on a swivelling boom that folds away when not in use, and volume and mute controls right on the cable. Nothing to install.
Up to 30 m of Bluetooth range, 16 h of talk time and a simultaneous connection to the computer and the smartphone. In an open-plan office, the Busylight indicator turns red as soon as you are on a call.
