Frequently asked questions about this product

Which meeting platforms is this Adapt 160 USB II certified for?
For Zoom, Google Meet and Webex by Cisco. It is also stated to be compatible with Works with Chromebook, Avaya, RingCentral, Enreach and Google Voice — most of the tools used for hybrid working.
Which port does this headset plug into, and with which cable?
Into a computer's USB-A port, with no installation. The cable is detachable, measures 1.78 m and carries the call controls: if it gets damaged, you replace it without changing the headset.
Where does the mic boom go when you are not using it?
It flips up and disappears into the headband: the headset becomes discreet again, with no boom in front of your face, which matters on video calls or on public transport. The microphone remains noise-cancelling when the boom is in position.
Which controls can you reach during a call?
Volume, microphone mute and call answer, grouped together on the cable. The action is instant, with no need to hunt for the matching button in the window of the meeting in progress.
Does this model have active noise cancellation?
No, it does not: the attenuation comes from the large redesigned foam ear cushions resting on your ears. For ANC, the Adapt 160 ANC version from the same series is the one to go for.
136 g: can you wear it all day?
That is the weight of this binaural version with foam ear cushions, the lightest of the series' two-ear-cup versions. The headband is adjustable and flexible, and the load is spread over both ears.
Does this headset fold flat to fit in a bag?
Yes, the ear cups fold flat and the boom retracts into the headband; a carry case comes with the headset. The whole thing lies flat in a laptop bag without crushing the headband.
Is your ear protected from sound spikes on this headset?
Yes, by EPOS ActiveGard, which clips acoustic shocks, with sound pressure capped at 115 dB. A noise limiter compliant with European standards can also be switched on from EPOS Connect.
How good is this Adapt 160's microphone in an open-plan office?
It is noise-cancelling and picks up from 100 to 8,000 Hz: it filters out ambient noise so that only your voice is transmitted, with EPOS Voice technology for natural-sounding speech at the other end of the line.
Can this headset be updated or configured?
Yes, via EPOS Connect for the firmware and audio preferences, and EPOS Manager to manage an entire fleet remotely. That is also where the workplace noise limiter is set.
Is this EPOS Impact Adapt 160 USB II new and under warranty?
Yes, new in its original EPOS packaging, pouch and cable included. Your invoice serves as the warranty document and covers 1 year on part number 1000915. The manufacturer's document for the Adapt 100 series details all the measurements.
