This product is covered for 1 year by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

Frequently asked questions about this product

What real-world battery life can you expect from the HyperX Cloud III S?
Up to 120 hours on 2.4 GHz and up to 200 hours on Bluetooth — two different figures, measured at 50% volume in continuous playback. 2.4 GHz mode uses more power because it prioritises responsiveness.
What is the difference between 2.4 GHz and Bluetooth modes?
2.4 GHz goes through the supplied USB dongle and is aimed at gaming: dedicated link, 120 h battery life. Bluetooth 5.3 serves your phone and tablet, with 200 h of battery life. A switch on the ear cup toggles between the two.
Does Instant Pair mode work on any PC?
No: dongle-free instant pairing is reserved for select OMEN laptops. On any other machine, you use the 2.4 GHz USB dongle or Bluetooth, which makes no difference to the headset's performance.
Does this headset have two microphones?
Yes, and they do not play the same role. The detachable 10 mm boom, a unidirectional electret condenser mic, is made for gaming. An omnidirectional MEMS mic built into the ear cup takes over when you go out without the boom.
How can you tell if the mic is muted during a match?
A mute LED indicator is built into the boom: it lights up when the mic is muted. The boom also has a mesh filter that absorbs plosives, and muting is triggered by a dedicated button on the ear cup.
Which devices does the Cloud III S work with?
HyperX lists it as compatible with PC, Mac, PS5, Nintendo Switch and mobile, with a wireless range of up to 20 m. The NGENUITY customisation software covers the PC side.
Is DTS spatial audio free and available everywhere?
It is activated for life, with no subscription, but only on PC, via the HyperX NGENUITY software — itself limited to Windows 10 and later. On a console or mobile device, the headset works without this spatial audio.
What is in the box with the wireless Cloud III S?
Six items: the headset, the detachable mic, the wireless dongle, a USB-C to USB-A adapter, a USB charging cable and the guide. The adapter matters: it lets you plug the dongle into a machine without a USB-C port.
How long does it take to recharge this HyperX headset?
5 hours for a full charge, via a 0.5 m USB-C to USB-C cable. That is long in absolute terms, but set against the 120 hours of gaming claimed, it works out at one recharge every two or three weeks of intensive use.
Is the Cloud III S sturdy enough to carry around?
Its structure combines a stainless steel frame and aluminium forks, described as resistant to travel and wear. The headset weighs 340 g, plus 12 g for the boom and 4.3 g for the wireless dongle.
Does this gaming headset actively cancel room noise?
No, there is no active noise cancellation. Isolation comes from the closed circumaural design and the leatherette memory foam cushions, which seal around the ear. The headband is padded on the same principle.
How good are this headset's angled drivers?
They are 53 mm drivers angled towards the ear canal rather than set flat, which helps you locate a sound in space. The headset covers 20 Hz to 20 kHz, with an impedance of 64 ohms and stated distortion below 2%.
