Does this Engage 55 SE mono connect via USB-C?
Yes: its USB-C DECT adapter is included, to plug into a recent laptop or a docking station. The resulting radio link is dedicated to voice, independent of Bluetooth.
What is in the box with this part number?
The mono headset, the USB-C DECT adapter, a USB cable, a travel pouch and the documentation. The charging stand, for its part, comes with other part numbers in the same range.
How far can you move from your workstation?
Up to 150 m in DECT around the adapter. That range is what sets this type of headset apart from a Bluetooth model, limited to a few metres around the computer.
A single earpiece: a choice or a cost saving?
A choice: it leaves one ear on your surroundings, which is essential at reception and on the switchboard. The headset weighs 57 g and is worn with a headband, with the neckband remaining available as an accessory.
How many hours of talk time per charge?
Up to 13 hours, measured with the busy light switched off, with a full recharge in 90 minutes. Thirty minutes of charging already restores 40% of the battery.
Does the dual microphone make any difference for the customer?
Yes: the two capsules isolate your voice from ambient noise, in wideband audio. It is the person you are talking to who benefits — they hear your speech, not the office floor behind you.
Is the DECT link secure for sensitive data?
Jabra states security beyond level C, the highest in the DECT standard. Exchanges are not sent in clear text, which allows use in regulated departments.
Can the battery in this headset be changed without workshop tools?
Yes, it is user-replaceable. That is what lets you keep the same headset for several years instead of replacing it when the battery life starts to fade.
