Does the Evolve 20 SE connect via USB-C or USB-A?
Both: this reference comes with the USB-C/A adapter, so it can move from a recent laptop to an older desktop PC. The headset is recognised as soon as it is plugged in, on PC and Mac alike.
How much does the Evolve 20 SE Stereo weigh with its control unit?
132 g in total for the stereo version, against 104 g for the mono version. Part of this weight is the control unit, which rests on the desk rather than on your head.
What can you do from the in-line control unit?
Answer and end calls, mute the microphone and adjust the volume, without leaving the window open on your screen. It also carries the busylight that your colleagues can see.
Does the headset shut out open-plan office noise?
Through contact alone: its faux leather ear cushions cover both ears and provide passive reduction of high-pitched sounds — precisely the range of human voices. No electronic processing is involved.
Is the Evolve 20 SE microphone directional?
Yes, it is a unidirectional electret condenser microphone: it picks up what comes from the front — your voice — and rejects what arrives from the sides. The person you are talking to hears the conversation, not the room.
How long is the cable on this headset?
2.15 m, control unit included: enough to connect a tower on the floor while keeping the control unit within reach on the desk.
Can this headset also be used to listen to music?
Its 28 mm speakers cover 20 Hz to 20 kHz in music mode, against 150 Hz to 7 kHz in voice mode: the frequency response widens markedly as soon as the headset leaves the call.
How does this headset protect your hearing?
