What do the 240 W of the JBL PartyBox Stage 320 really amount to?
240 W RMS measured to the IEC 60268 standard, spread across two 165 mm woofers and two 25 mm dome tweeters, for a frequency response of 40 Hz to 20 kHz (-6 dB). Enough to fill a space the size of a tennis court with sound, indoors as well as outdoors.
How many hours does the PartyBox Stage 320 last, and how long does it take to recharge?
Up to 18 hours of playback on a single charge, with the actual time varying with the volume and the type of music. A full charge takes 3 hours, with the speaker switched off. And when the party starts in ten minutes, 10 minutes of charging gives 2 hours of listening.
Can the battery of the JBL PartyBox Stage 320 really be swapped?
Yes. It is a 68 Wh lithium-ion JBL BATTERY400 (equivalent to 7.2 V / 9,444 mAh) that you swap out to start again on a full charge without waiting. The spare battery is sold separately: plan for one if your parties last longer than 18 hours.
Can you plug in two microphones and a guitar at the same time on the Stage 320?
Yes: two microphone inputs and one guitar input work side by side, with a karaoke EQ setting and a light show that follows along. Input sensitivity is 20 mV RMS for the microphone, 100 mV RMS for the guitar and 250 mV RMS on the 3.5 mm jack.
Does the speaker play directly from a USB flash drive, and in which formats?
Yes, without going through a phone: plug in a drive formatted in FAT16 or FAT32 and it plays MP3, WAV, WMA and FLAC files. Handy for running a long playlist without tying up a smartphone all evening.
Can you charge a phone from the JBL PartyBox Stage 320?
Yes, through its USB port, which delivers 5 V / 2.1 A maximum. One useful detail: this charging output works with the speaker switched off. So it is an end-of-party top-up, not a permanent power supply for the phone playing the music.
What exactly does this party speaker's IPX4 rating protect against?
It covers water splashes from any direction: a shower in the park or splashes by the pool will not stop it. The X, on the other hand, indicates that dust resistance has not been rated, and this rating covers no immersion.
At 16.5 kg, is the PartyBox Stage 320 easy to move around?
It rolls: wide wheels and a telescopic handle that extends and then retracts. On flat ground, one person is enough. At 16.5 kg and 335 x 669 x 385 mm, however, it still has to be lifted for stairs or a car boot — plan on two people.
Can the Stage 320 be connected to other JBL speakers?
Yes, in two ways. Two speakers pair in stereo to widen the soundstage; and several Auracast-compatible PartyBox speakers link wirelessly to cover a larger area. Playback stays synchronised across all the linked speakers.
Do you need to stay next to the speaker to change the music and the lights?
No. The JBL PartyBox app controls playback, EQ, interactive sound effects and even the colours and patterns of the light show. You adjust the atmosphere from the dance floor rather than crouching in front of the speaker.
What exactly is in the box of the PartyBox Stage 320?
The speaker, a 2 m power cord (100-240 V, with the plug varying by region), the quick start guide and the warranty and safety card. Microphones and instruments then connect to the dedicated inputs, depending on the equipment you have.
Is the speaker new and covered by a warranty?
