Does the Shure MV6 require an audio interface?
No: it plugs straight into a PC or a Mac via USB-C, with no interface or preamp. This is what sets a USB mic apart from a conventional XLR mic, which always needs an intermediate box.
Do you need to set the gain on the MV6 before recording?
No: Auto Level mode adjusts the gain in real time, according to your distance from the mic and the level of your voice. The sound stays consistent, whether you whisper or raise your voice.
Do you need a pop filter in front of the MV6?
No: the Digital Popper Stopperdigitally removes plosives — the “p”, “b” and “t” sounds that overload — without a physical filter. One less accessory to buy and set up.
Does the MV6 pick up the noise of my PC fan?
It is processed in real time: the Real-time Denoiser removes persistent background noise — fan, air conditioning, the hum of the tower. The cardioid dynamic capsule also blocks sound coming from the sides.
Can I listen to myself on headphones while recording?
Yes: a 3.5 mm headphone output allows direct monitoring, with no latency. The mix between your voice and the computer audio is set in the free MOTIV Mix app.
How can you quickly mute the mic during a live stream?
