How long does the SMC2000I run on battery?
19 minutes at 50% load, i.e. 650 W, and 11 minutes at 70%, i.e. 910 W. A full recharge then takes only 3 hours.
Are all the SMC2000I's outlets battery-backed?
Yes: six C13 outlets and one heavy-duty C19 outlet, all powered by the battery. Input is via a heavy-duty C20 inlet, protected by a 10 A circuit breaker.
Why does 2000 VA only give 1300 W?
The power factor is 0.65: 2000 × 0.65 = 1300 W actually available. Compare this figure in watts with the combined power draw of your servers, never the VA in the product name.
Over what voltage range does the SMC2000I's AVR operate?
Between 180 and 287 V by default, with a possible setting of 170 to 300 V. The input frequency is accepted from 47 to 63 Hz.
How much space does the SMC2000I take up, and is it noisy?
170 × 440 × 246 mm and 27.5 kg, in tower format. It stays below 45 dBA: quiet for this power rating, so it can be kept in a shared room.
Can the SMC2000I's battery be replaced?
Yes, under the reference APCRBC133, also known as RBC7. Three separate alarms signal the switch to battery, the low-battery threshold and overload, with configurable delays.
How do you shut down a server automatically with the SMC2000I?
Through the USB port; the cable is supplied together with the software CD and the documentation CD. A multifunction LCD console on the front panel shows the status, with no software needed.
Is the APC Smart-UPS C SMC2000I new and under warranty?
