Professional UPS for servers, with remote monitoring: line-interactive with voltage regulation, 1500 VA / 1000 W, rack/tower form factor.
Technology & protection: it switches to battery the instant the power cuts out, absorbs surges and continuously corrects voltage fluctuations without tapping into the battery.
Power: 1500 VA for 1000 W of usable output.
Runtime: approx. 25 minutes at half load (500 W), 14 minutes at 70% — more than enough time to shut your machines down properly.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Is the network card built into the SMT1500RMI2UNC?
Yes, a network card is built in — that is what the letters “NC” in the reference indicate. Control and monitoring are carried out remotely over the company network, with no accessory to order.
How long does the SMT1500RMI2UNC run on battery?
25 minutes at 50% load, i.e. 500 W, and 14 minutes at 70%, i.e. 700 W. That is very comfortable for a 1500 VA rack-mount unit.
How long does it take to switch to battery?
2 milliseconds on average — markedly faster than the usual 6 to 10 ms in this category. The output is also a sine wave, which is what server power supplies require.
Which outlets does the SMT1500RMI2UNC have?
Four C13 outlets and two IEC jumpers, with one C14 inlet. You will need IEC cords for your machines beyond the ones you reuse.
Why does 1500 VA only give 1000 W?
The power factor is about 0.67: 1000 W actually available. Compare this wattage with the combined consumption of the server, switch and storage installed in the rack.
Does the SMT1500RMI2UNC install in a rack or as a tower?
Both: it is a convertible rack/tower chassis, weighing 28.6 kg. At this weight, rack installation takes two people and the unit goes at the bottom of the cabinet.
Is the SMT1500RMI2UNC noisy in a rack?
It is rated at 46 dBA: audible in a quiet room but unobtrusive in an already ventilated rack. It belongs in an equipment room rather than next to a workstation.
Is the APC Smart-UPS SMT1500RMI2UNC new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for a period of 2 years. It is CE, EAC, RCM and VDE certified, and can also be managed locally via a USB or RS-232 port for automatic system shutdown. The datasheet covers the rest.
