An affordable UPS to protect a computer and its peripherals: line-interactive with automatic voltage regulation and 1000 VA / 600 W.
Technology & protection: it takes over on battery the moment the power fails, protects against surges and corrects voltage dips and spikes to deliver stable power.
Power: 1000 VA for 600 W of usable power — a PC, a monitor and their accessories.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Are all six outlets on the BV1000I battery-backed?
Yes, all six C13 outlets are powered by the battery: none is limited to surge protection. That is rare at this price point, where half the outlets are often merely surge-protected.
How long does the BV1000I take to switch to battery?
6 milliseconds at half load, 10 maximum. That is exactly how long the output goes unpowered when the mains drops out — imperceptible to a computer.
How much load can this 1000 VA unit take?
600 W. It is this wattage that you must compare with your equipment: a desktop PC, a monitor and their peripherals, or communications equipment. The 1000 VA in the product name is apparent power, not usable as such.
Over what voltage range does the BV1000I's AVR operate?
Between 170 and 280 V: as long as the mains stays within it, the UPS corrects the voltage without drawing on the battery, which extends its service life and improves the overall energy efficiency.
How long does it take to recharge the battery?
8 hours for a full recharge, on a battery rated for 3 to 5 years of service. It is the unit's wear part: once that time is up, it is the battery you replace, not the UPS.
How much space does the BV1000I take up, and can it be rack-mounted?
16.05 cm wide, 30.5 cm deep and 9.25 cm high, weighing 5.7 kg. This low profile slips under a monitor or behind a PC tower, but the unit is not rack-mountable: it is a desktop tower format.
Is the BV1000I noisy, and where should it be installed?
It is rated at 40 dBA and has an IP20 rating: protected against solid objects but not waterproof. Install it somewhere dry, away from splashes, preferably on the floor rather than on the desk.
Is the APC Easy UPS BV1000I new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for a period of 2 years. It automatically detects an input frequency of 50 or 60 Hz ±5 Hz and outputs the same at ±1 Hz. The datasheet covers the rest.
