A professional UPS for servers, with cloud monitoring: line-interactive with voltage regulation, 1500 VA / 900 W and SmartConnect.

Frequently asked questions about this product

How long does the SMC1500IC run on battery?
17 minutes at 50% load, i.e. 450 W, and 13 minutes at 70%, i.e. 630 W. A full recharge then takes only 3 hours.
What does the SMC1500IC's SmartConnect feature do?
It lets you monitor the UPS from a web browser, over a cloud connection, without installing any software: status, alerts and reports, all remotely. Local management, for its part, goes through the USB port, with the cable included.
Are all the SMC1500IC's outlets battery-backed?
Yes: eight C13 outlets and two IEC jumpers, all powered by the battery. That is enough to protect a PC, a server, a NAS and a switch on the same UPS.
Is the output a pure sine wave?
Yes, the output is sinusoidal — rare for a line-interactive unit. Transfer to battery takes 6 milliseconds typical, 10 maximum.
Why does 1500 VA only give 900 W?
The power factor is 0.6: 900 W actually available. Compare this figure in watts with the combined consumption of your professional equipment, never the VA in the product name.
How much space does the SMC1500IC take up, and is it noisy?
17.1 cm wide, 43.9 cm deep and 21.9 cm high, weighing 20.1 kg, in tower format. It is rated at 45 dBA: better placed on the floor than on the desk.
How can you tell that the UPS has switched to battery?
Through a multifunction LCD console that shows the load, battery level and runtime, backed up by audible alarms with configurable delays — which avoids beeps at every brief power dip.
Is the APC Smart-UPS SMC1500IC new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for 2 years. Its input and output frequency is held at 50/60 Hz ±3 Hz, synchronised with the mains. The datasheet covers the rest.
