How long does the Argus 2200 run on battery?
7 minutes 30 seconds at 50% load, i.e. 660 W, and 3 minutes 30 seconds at 75%. The gap is clear: on this UPS, every extra step of load costs a lot of runtime, and aiming for half the rated power is the best setting.
Does the Argus 2200 output a pure sine wave?
Yes, the output waveform in battery mode is a pure sine wave — rare on a line-interactive unit, which usually produces a stepped, reconstructed signal. The accepted input range extends from 165 to 290 V.
Are all four C13 outlets battery-backed?
Yes, all four C13 outlets are powered by the battery: none is reserved for surge protection only. RJ11/RJ45 line protection also covers the telephone and the network.
Can the Argus 2200 be installed in a rack or as a tower?
Both: a convertible 2U chassis, 400 mm deep, 438 wide and 88 high, weighing 16.5 kg. This moderate depth lets it fit into cabinets where many UPS units of the same power will not go.
Why does 2200 VA give only 1320 W?
The power factor is 0.6: 2200 × 0.6 = 1320 W actually available. Compare this wattage with the combined consumption of what you put in the rack, and keep some headroom — runtime depends directly on it.
Can the Argus 2200 be used behind a generator?
Yes, generator compatibility is stated. This is far from universal: many UPS units reject the irregular frequency of a generator and immediately switch back to battery, which drains it in a few minutes.
How do you monitor the Argus 2200 or shut it down in an emergency?
Four interfaces: USB HID, RS-232, SNMP for network monitoring via an optional card, and an EPO emergency power-off contact. An LCD screen shows the status, the load and the battery level without any software.
What does the Argus 2200's AVR correct?
A regulator with one boost step and one buck step raises low voltages and lowers high voltages without switching to battery. As long as the mains stays within the accepted range, the battery stays full for real power cuts.
Can two Argus 2200 units be combined to double the power?
No, parallel operation is not supported. For more power, you need to move up the range; the UPS itself houses two internal GP09122L batteries, with no external battery pack provided for.
