Do you need an accessory to project wirelessly with the Epson EB-W55?
No, Wi-Fi is built in. The image goes straight from a phone, tablet or laptop, with no module to add and no cable to run. The trade-off is that there is no wired network port: the network connection is made over Wi-Fi, while wired sources go through the two HDMI inputs or the USB port.
Does the EB-W55 hold its own in a well-lit room?
4,000 lumens of colour brightness and a 16,000:1 contrast ratio: colours hold up with the blinds open, which is the real test for a meeting-room projector. 3LCD technology contributes by processing the three colours simultaneously, each on its own panel.
Does the image correct itself automatically if the projector is set at an angle?
Yes, keystone correction is automatic. Image size, on the other hand, is adjusted with a manual zoom: you turn the ring to set the projected width on the wall, which takes a few seconds of setting up the first time.
Can the EB-W55 display two sources at the same time?
Yes, the split-screen function displays two sources simultaneously. The two HDMI inputs let you keep a desktop PC permanently connected and plug a guest laptop into the second, without unplugging anything in the middle of a meeting.
Is the EB-W55 quiet in a meeting room?
37 dB(A) in normal mode, a discreet fan hum. On a meeting table, it stays below the level of a conversation, which matters when the unit sits in the middle of the participants rather than being mounted on the ceiling.
