Can you connect an older computer to the Epson EB-E24?
Yes. It has two VGA inputs in addition to its HDMI input, and even a composite video input: an older PC, a document camera or a DVD player connects directly. A VGA output also lets you send the image on to a monitor.
How much throw distance does the EB-E24 need in a classroom?
From 1.44 to 2.88 times the width of the desired image: for an image two metres wide, allow between 2.90 m and 5.75 m. This very wide range leaves plenty of freedom in where to place it, and the image size can reach 350 inches.
What does the EB-E24 cost to run over time?
Its 210 W UHE lamp is rated for 6,000 hours in normal mode and 12,000 hours in eco mode. In a classroom, at four hours a day, eco mode means more than ten school years before the first lamp replacement.
Does the EB-E24 have Wi-Fi for wireless projection?
No: this model has neither Wi-Fi nor a network port. Projection is by cable, via HDMI for a recent device or VGA for an older computer. It is a simple, configuration-free choice, suited to a room where the same computer stays connected.
Is the EB-E24 bright enough for a classroom with the shutters open?
3,600 lumens of white and colour brightness alike, with a contrast ratio of 15,000:1. 3LCD technology, which handles the three colours on three separate panels, keeps colours legible in full light. In eco mode, brightness drops to 2,100 lumens.
How sharp an image can you expect from the EB-E24's XGA resolution?
1024 × 768 pixels. This resolution is designed for presentation text, diagrams and teaching materials, which remain perfectly legible even on a large image. For a very dense spreadsheet or high-definition video, a higher resolution will be more comfortable.
Is the EB-E24's built-in speaker good enough?
It delivers 5 W, enough to accompany an educational video in a quiet room. For a large class, the output jack lets you connect to an existing sound system, and an audio input is provided to go with the VGA source.
Is the EB-E24 easy to move from one room to another?
