Frequently asked questions about this product

Is the network card built into this Smart-UPS X 1500?
Yes, a network card is built in: control and monitoring are done remotely over the company network, with no accessory to add. This is what sets this reference apart from the same model without a card.
How long does this Smart-UPS X 1500 run on battery?
17 minutes at 50% load, i.e. 600 W, and 10 minutes at 70%, i.e. 840 W. Runtime can be extended with additional battery packs, and a full recharge takes 3 hours.
Why does this 1500 VA unit deliver 1200 W?
Thanks to a power factor of 0.8: 1500 × 0.8 = 1200 W actually available. That is a generous margin of usable power compared with desktop UPSs, which often top out at 0.55.
Are all the outlets battery-backed?
Yes: eight C13 outlets and two IEC jumpers, all powered by the battery. Input is via a C14 inlet, protected by a 10 A circuit breaker.
Can this model be installed in a rack or as a tower?
Both: it is a convertible 2U chassis, weighing 24.8 kg. The power cord is 1.83 m long, so you need a socket close to where the unit will sit.
Is the battery replaceable on this Smart-UPS X 1500?
Yes, under reference APCRBC115, as a single unit. Three distinct audible alarms also signal the switch to battery, the low battery threshold and overload.
Over what voltage range does the AVR operate?
Between 160 and 286 V, at a frequency auto-sensed at 50 or 60 Hz ±3 Hz, with the output synchronised to the mains within the same tolerance.
Is the APC Smart-UPS X 1500 with network card new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for 3 years. It is rated at 40 dB, so it can stay in a shared room. The datasheet covers the rest.
