Product overview

Professional UPS, convertible between rack and tower: line-interactive with voltage regulation, 750 VA / 600 W.
Technology & protection: it switches to battery the instant the power cuts out, absorbs surges and continuously corrects voltage fluctuations without drawing on the battery.
Power: 750 VA for 600 W of usable output — its high power factor (0.86) lets you use almost all of its capacity in watts, where a conventional UPS loses a third of it.
Runtime: approx. 37 minutes at half load (300 W), 24 minutes at 70% — outstanding runtime.
Outlets: 8 C13 outlets, all with battery backup.
Quiet operation (40 dB).
LCD display: it shows the load, battery level and remaining runtime at a glance — so you can monitor the UPS without any software.

Frequently asked questions about this product

How long does the SMX750I run on battery?
37 minutes at 50% load, i.e. 300 W, and 24 minutes at 70%, i.e. 420 W. That is one of the best runtimes in the catalogue at this power rating: enough to ride out an entire outage, not just to shut down.
Why does this 750 VA unit give 600 W?
Thanks to a power factor of 0.86: 750 × 0.86 = 600 W actually available. That is exceptionally high for a line-interactive UPS — a desktop model at 0.55 would provide only 410.
Are all the outlets on the SMX750I battery-backed?
Yes: eight C13 outlets and two IEC jumpers, all powered by the battery. Input is via a C14 inlet, with a 1.83 m cord.
Can the SMX750I be installed in a rack or as a tower?
Both: a convertible chassis 89 mm high, 432 wide and 490 mm deep, weighing 27 kg. The rack mounting hardware and removable feet are included.
Over what voltage range does the SMX750I's AVR operate?
Between 160 and 286 V, at a frequency auto-sensed at 50 or 60 Hz ±3 Hz. As long as the mains stays within it, the battery is not used — which also explains the long runtime available during a real outage.
Can the SMX750I's battery be replaced?
Yes, with the APCRBC116 cartridge. Three distinct audible alarms also signal the switch to battery, the low-battery threshold and overload.
Is the SMX750I quiet enough for an office?
Yes, it is rated at less than 40 dBA. A multifunction LCD console on the front panel shows the status, and a SmartSlot accepts an optional network card in addition to the USB port.
Is the APC Smart-UPS X SMX750I new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for a period of 3 years. It delivers a pure sine wave, which power factor corrected power supplies require. The datasheet covers the rest.
