Product overview

Desktop UPS to protect a workstation and its peripherals: line-interactive with automatic voltage regulation (AVR) and 1100 VA / 660 W.
Technology & protection: it switches to battery the instant the power cuts out, absorbs surges and automatically corrects voltage dips and spikes without drawing on the battery.
Power: 1100 VA for 660 W of usable output — a PC, a monitor and their accessories.
Outlets: 6 C13 outlets (for computer and server power cords).
Management: USB port for automatic PC shutdown. It also protects the data line (RJ-11) against surges — a path lightning can take too.
Ideal, for example, for an office workstation, a small NAS or a switch.
Remember to check how much power your equipment draws and to choose the capacity according to the runtime you need.

Frequently asked questions about this product

How long does the 5E1100IUSB run on battery?
11 minutes at half load, i.e. 330 W. That is enough to save your work, close applications and properly shut down a workstation and its peripherals.
Can the UPS start up with no mains power present?
Yes, it supports cold start, and its battery is continuously charged: it is full when the outage comes, even if the unit had been left switched off.
Which outlets does the 5E1100IUSB have?
Six C13 outlets on the output, the format used by computer and server power cords, with a C14 inlet. Make sure you have IEC cords: there is no household socket on this unit.
Does the UPS protect the phone and internet line?
Yes, surge protection covers the data line — phone and internet — in addition to the power outlets. It is a classic way for a broadband router to get destroyed, and it is often forgotten.
Why does 1100 VA give only 660 W?
The power factor is 0.6: 1100 × 0.6 = 660 W actually available. Add up the watts of the tower unit, the monitor and the broadband router, and stay below this ceiling to keep the stated runtime.
What does the 5E1100IUSB's AVR correct, and over what range?
It restores the voltage without drawing on the battery, between 170 and 280 V. As long as the mains stays within this range, the battery does not discharge: it remains available for real outages.
Does the PC shut down on its own before the battery is exhausted?
Yes, via the USB port and the Eaton UPS Companion software, which shuts the system down safely, measures energy consumption and gives access to the UPS settings.
Is the Eaton 5E 5E1100IUSB new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document, for a period of 2 years. It measures 330 × 180 × 133 mm, weighs 9.22 kg and runs at 45 dBA. The datasheet covers the rest.
