Frequently asked questions about this product

Does the Dell Pro 16 have an Ethernet port, or do you need an adapter?
It has a built-in 1 Gbps RJ-45 port: no adapter is needed to join the company network. It sits on the right-hand side, alongside two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports (one with PowerShare) and a Wedge lock slot for securing the machine to a workstation.
Is the keyboard of this Dell Pro 16 backlit?
No, this configuration has no backlighting. The keyboard is, however, French AZERTY, and the Windows Copilot key opens the AI assistant directly. If you often work in the evening or in a dimly lit room, this is the point to be aware of before ordering.
Is the screen a touchscreen, and what difference does the 16:10 format make?
The screen is not touch-enabled: it is a 16-inch FHD+ (1920 × 1200) panel. Its 16:10 format, taller than the usual 16:9, provides 10% more screen area than the previous generation: you see more rows of a spreadsheet or lines of a document without scrolling.
Which video outputs can be used to connect an external monitor?
Three: one HDMI 2.1, one USB-C Thunderbolt 4 with DisplayPort 2.1 and a second USB-C with DisplayPort 2.0. No proprietary adapter is needed, and the HDMI port stays free for a meeting-room projector.
Can it be charged via USB-C, or do you have to use the original charger?
Both USB-C ports support Power Delivery 3.1 and therefore accept USB-C charging. The machine also has a dedicated 4.5 mm power connector.
Is a 16-inch computer still portable for everyday use?
Yes: 1.94 kg for 358 × 251.8 mm and a thickness of 18.89 to 20.85 mm. Battery life reaches 8.7 hours, enough to get through a day of meetings without looking for a socket, and it can also be charged via USB-C.
Is this Dell Pro 16 tough enough for constant travel?
It undergoes MIL-STD durability tests and uses a modular design: the USB-C ports, keyboard and I/O board are separate modules. Its modular USB-C port is up to 4 times more resistant to twisting and 33 times more resistant to impact, for longer durability and easier repairs.
Can you play games or edit video on this Dell Pro 16?
No, there is no dedicated graphics card: display is handled by the Intel Graphics integrated into the Core Ultra 5 235U, a low-power chip aimed at office work and multitasking. For 3D gaming or sustained video editing, you should look at a machine with a dedicated GPU.
What does this laptop's AI chip actually do?
The Core Ultra 5 235U has an NPU, a low-power AI accelerator, designed for features such as Microsoft Studio Effects during video calls. The processor itself handles noise suppression and live transcription.
Does this model meet the environmental requirements of a tender?
Yes, it holds the ENERGY STAR and TCO Certified labels as well as EPEAT Gold with the Climate+ designation. It contains up to 50% post-consumer recycled plastic in the bezel, palm rest and bottom cover, 98% in the battery frame, and its packaging is 100% recycled or renewable.
