How many devices can this SDW 5066T handle at the same time?
Three: the computer or softphone, the desk phone and the mobile. The base station acts as a gateway, and the same headset takes the call wherever it comes from.
What does the T version of this SDW 5066 add?
Microsoft Teams certification and a dedicated button on the headset: one press opens the meeting. The sound meets the Teams Open Office specifications, with very wide-band audio.
What battery life can you expect in each audio mode?
14 h in narrowband, 12 h in density-optimised wideband, 11.5 h in wideband and 9 h in super wideband, with 44 h of standby. The wider the band, the harder the battery works.
How far can you move away from the base station?
180 m in open field and 55 m in an office building. The indoor figure is the one to go by: it still leaves enough range to cross an open-plan floor without dropping the call.
How long does it take to charge this DECT headset?
50% in 30 minutes on its charging base, which is included, and 1 h 30 min for a full charge. The lithium-polymer battery can also be replaced by after-sales service.
How does the microphone separate your voice from the noise of the office floor?
With two digital noise-cancelling microphones combined with own-voice detection: the system recognises your speech and filters out nearby conversations.
How can you avoid being interrupted during a call?
The headset has a busy light that shows you are on a call, and the soft faux leather ear cushions reduce the noise reaching you. Together, the two cut down on interruptions.
Can several headsets join the same call?
Yes, up to four headsets from the SDW 5000 range on the same base station. Supervisor listening, training or a three-way conversation can be set up without going through the switchboard.
Can the conversation be intercepted?
Pairing is protected, authentication uses 128-bit keys and the link carries DECT security certification. It is the pairing stage, the most exposed moment on a wireless system, that is locked down.
At 136 g in stereo, is it comfortable over long periods?
That is the weight stated for this binaural version. The soft faux leather ear cushions rest on the ear and the headband spreads the load on both sides, which matters more than the weight itself.
Is your hearing protected on this SDW 5066T?
Yes, by ActiveGard: the sound pressure level does not exceed 118 dB, whatever peaks come down the line. A limiter compliant with European regulations also kicks in.
Is this EPOS IMPACT SDW 5066T new and under warranty?
Yes, new in its original EPOS packaging, charging base included. Your invoice serves as the warranty document and covers 1 year on part number 1001039. The manufacturer document for the SDW 5000 range details all the measurements.
