Can this BlueParrott B550-XT cope in a truck or a workshop?
That is what it is made for: the directional boom microphone picks up only what comes from your mouth and blocks up to 96% of background noise. It is designed for very noisy environments.
Can everything be controlled by voice, hands-free?
Yes: calls, GPS, music and voice assistants are controlled by voice. You can say “call back”, “check battery” or “am I connected?” without letting go of the steering wheel or the tool.
What battery life is quoted for this Bluetooth headset?
Up to 24 hours of talk time and 400 hours on standby. A full recharge takes about 3 h 30 min, from a computer USB port or a mains charger.
How far does the wireless link on this B550-XT reach?
Up to 100 m — far more than the 10 m of standard Bluetooth, letting you move away from the vehicle or the workstation without dropping the call.
Can it be used with a phone and a tablet at the same time?
Yes: the dual Bluetooth connection keeps two devices connected at once, a smartphone and a tablet. The call comes through the headset whichever device is ringing.
What is the Parrott Button on this headset for?
To trigger your favourite function with a single press: speed dial, microphone mute or push-to-talk mode. The button can be customised, which saves navigating a menu in the middle of a task.
Is this headset resistant to dust and splashes?
Yes, it is IP54 certified: protected against dust and water splashes, with a one-year warranty against water and dust damage. That is what sets it apart from an office headset.
Is continuous wear comfortable on this mono model?
It has padding on the headband and a larger ear cushion than the previous generation, precisely for all-day wear. Only one ear is covered; the other stays on your surroundings.
