What do you gain from 16 GB of RAM on the S26 Ultra?
The ability to keep several demanding apps open side by side — photo editing, video editing, gaming, a browser with many tabs — without the system reloading them every time you switch. It is the model's highest configuration, paired here with 1 TB of storage.
Is the whole terabyte of the S26 Ultra available?
989.5 GB is actually usable, with the system and preinstalled apps taking up the difference. With that much capacity, even regular 8K video recording — the device's most space-hungry format — no longer puts any strain on storage in everyday use.
How do you write by hand on the S26 Ultra?
With the built-in S Pen: it lets you write, draw, annotate a screenshot or sign a document directly on the 6.9-inch display. Because it is housed inside the phone, it is always to hand, which makes a real difference to how often you actually use it.
Can you hide the S26 Ultra's screen on public transport?
Yes, that is what the built-in privacy screen is for: the display darkens for anyone looking at it from the side. You can set the scope — the whole screen, selected apps, incoming notifications, or just PIN codes and passwords as you enter them.
What video playback time is quoted for the S26 Ultra?
Up to 31 hours of video playback non-stop — a specific measurement, not to be confused with a day of mixed use. The 5,000 mAh battery capacity is a typical value, and fast charging brings it back to 75% in around thirty minutes.
Can the S26 Ultra replace a laptop when travelling?
Partly, thanks to Samsung DeX: connected to a monitor, it displays a windowed desktop interface and accepts a keyboard and mouse. Its USB-C port runs at USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) and keeps pace for file transfers, and sound is output in stereo.
What wireless technologies does the S26 Ultra have?
Wi-Fi 7 — 802.11be on 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz, with 320 MHz channels and 4096-QAM —, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and a UWB chip, which shows the direction and distance of a compatible tracker to within a centimetre.
Does the S26 Ultra work with two eSIMs?
Yes. Three configurations are possible: two physical nano-SIMs, one nano-SIM plus one eSIM, or two eSIMs. The second line can therefore be activated remotely, without opening the tray or waiting for a card to be sent.
Is the S26 Ultra's 100x zoom as good as a telephoto lens?
Up to 5x, yes: two dedicated focal lengths, 3x and 5x, provide a true optical zoom, and the adaptive sensor maintains optical quality at 2x and 10x. The 100x, on the other hand, is digital: the image stays stabilised, but the detail depends on the light.
What is the point of filming in 8K with the S26 Ultra?
Recording in 8K (7680 × 4320) at 30 fps leaves plenty of room to crop or stabilise a clip during editing without dropping below 4K. Slow motion goes down to 240 fps in Full HD, and the USB 3.2 Gen 1 port speeds up getting the files off the phone.
Is the S26 Ultra protected against water and dust?
It is IP68 certified. The 6 means it is completely dust-tight, the 8 means protection against prolonged immersion in fresh water. Rain, a splash or a rinse under the tap therefore pose no risk to the device.
Until what date will the S26 Ultra stay protected?
Until 28 February 2033 for security patches, i.e. seven years of Android support. On a device in this category, that period matters as much as the spec sheet: it sets the point at which you will really need to replace it.
Is the Galaxy S26 Ultra new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document for 1 year. Keep it: it is the document you will be asked for when making a warranty claim.
