Is the price for one speaker or for the pair?
For the pair. You receive two D3V monitors, a left and a right, with one slaved to the other, connected by the link cable included: together they form a single stereo system. Each speaker has its own 70 W RMS Class D amplification.
Do you need a sound card or an audio interface to use them?
No. The USB-C connection carries audio straight from the computer, with no external interface. Three other inputs remain available: Bluetooth aptX HD, 3.5 mm aux jack and balanced 6.35 mm TRS for a mixing desk or a sound card you already have.
What is in the box, and do you need a power socket nearby?
Yes, a mains power cord is included, alongside the USB-C cable, the link cable between the two speakers and the quick start guide. USB-C handles the audio and powers the controls, so make sure there is a power socket near your desk.
Do you need to add a subwoofer?
It depends on your music: the response goes down to 60 Hz, which covers most of the spectrum but leaves out the sub-bass. A dedicated subwoofer output is provided to connect the D3V Sub, sold separately, if you work on very bass-heavy styles or on audio for video.
What is the built-in DSP for, and how is it adjusted?
It tailors the speakers to your desk: room compensation, a parametric EQ and voicing presets. Settings are made from the iOS/Android app — useful when the monitors are pushed against a wall or sitting on a reflective surface.
Can you listen to music from a phone on them?
Yes, over Bluetooth aptX HD. You can switch from producing over USB-C to everyday wireless listening, or to an external source plugged into the 3.5 mm jack, on the same speakers and without replugging anything. The 6.35 mm TRS inputs remain available in parallel for a mixing desk.
What does the S-ART ribbon tweeter actually bring?
It is ADAM Audio's signature ribbon tweeter (Symmetrical Accelerated Ribbon Tweeter), the technology that built the brand's reputation in the studio: it reproduces high frequencies with great finesse. The system's response extends up to 50 kHz, with a 3.5″ aluminium-fibre composite driver.
Are these ADAM Audio D3V monitors new and under warranty?
Yes: the pair is new, in its original packaging, supplied with its invoice, which serves as the 1-year warranty document. Each speaker delivers 70 W RMS Class D, with a 3.5″ driver and the S-ART ribbon tweeter, in a matte black finish.
