How does the JBL Pulse 5's light show work?
It spreads 360° across the speaker's transparent outer casing and syncs to the beat of the music. Colours and patterns can be customised in the JBL Portable app, for a subtle or a full-on party atmosphere.
How are the JBL Pulse 5's 40 W split?
30 W RMS for the woofer and 10 W for the tweeter, with a downward-facing passive radiator that reinforces the bass. The frequency range runs from 58 Hz to 20 kHz, and the sound is projected in all directions.
What battery life and charging does the Pulse 5 offer?
Up to 12 hours depending on volume and content, from a 27 Wh battery (3.6 V / 7,500 mAh). A full recharge takes under 4 hours at 5 V / 3 A, using the 1.2 m USB-C cable included.
Is the JBL Pulse 5 water- and dustproof?
Yes, it is IP67 certified: the 6 stands for complete protection against dust and the 7 for temporary immersion. The manufacturer explicitly intends it for the pool and the park, despite its illuminated casing.
Can the Pulse 5 be linked to other JBL speakers?
Yes, with PartyBoost: two compatible speakers pair up in stereo, or several can be chained to cover a larger space. Two smartphones or tablets can also stay connected at the same time.
How do you carry the JBL Pulse 5?
By its carrying strap, at 1.47 kg: a cylindrical design that can be carried by hand or hung up. As the transparent casing is the centrepiece of this model, it is best not to store it against abrasive objects.
