How far from the base can you move with this Savi 8220?
Up to 180 m in open space around the base: you can leave your desk and go to the printer or a neighbouring office without interrupting the call. Walls reduce this range inside a building.
Can this DECT headset also take calls from a smartphone?
Yes, it has Bluetooth 4.2 in addition to the DECT link: the mobile phone connects directly to the headset, without going through the base. You can therefore handle the desk phone, the computer and the mobile with a single headset.
What battery life and charging time for this Savi 8220?
13 hours of talk time and 50 hours on standby, with a full recharge in 3 hours on its stand. The 700 mAh lithium-polymer battery therefore covers a day of calls and recharges overnight.
What exactly does the advertised charging kit contain?
A charging stand, a carry case and a USB-A to USB-C cable. The headset goes back on the stand between calls, so you do not have to think about it, and the case is for travelling.
Is your hearing protected over days of calls?
Yes, by SoundGuard Digital: the technology clips sound spikes and monitors acoustic exposure over time. It is the kind of protection that matters when the headset stays on for seven or eight hours a day.
Why a stereo rather than a mono headset in a call centre?
Because the two on-ear earpieces isolate you from floor noise and help you concentrate on the person you are talking to. The trade-off is that you hear your colleagues less well: it is an organisational choice as much as a comfort one.
Is the sound of this Savi 8220 also suitable for music?
The earpieces cover 20 to 20,000 Hz with 7.2 cm drivers, and the Bluetooth AVRCP profile controls playback from the headset. The frequency response therefore goes well beyond what voice alone requires.
