Are the RG-RAP2200(F)'s network ports Gigabit?
No: its two ports are 10/100 Mbps. With the 5 GHz radio reaching 867 Mbps, the cable becomes the bottleneck beyond 100 Mbps per access point — a deliberate choice for office work, web and email, but one to avoid if you transfer large files.
What is the difference between the RG-RAP2200(F) and the (E) version?
The Wi-Fi and software features are identical: the same 867 Mbps on 5 GHz, the same 2×2 MU-MIMO, the same cloud management. Only the wired ports differ — 10/100 Mbps on the (F) versus 10/100/1000 Mbps on the (E). That is the only criterion for choosing between the two.
Do you need a power outlet near the RG-RAP2200(F)?
No. The network cable powers and connects it, using PoE 802.3af or PoE+ 802.3at, for 12.95 W maximum — an entry-level PoE switch is enough. Local 12 V power is possible, but the AC adapter is sold separately.
How many devices can be connected to this access point?
110 maximum, with 40 recommended: 8 on the 2.4 GHz band and 32 on the 5 GHz band. Use the figure of 40 when sizing for a classroom, an open-plan office or a shop.
What is in the RG-RAP2200(F) box?
The access point, its mounting bracket, two screws, two wall plugs, the quick start guide and the warranty card. Ceiling or wall mounting is therefore covered; you will still need the switch or injector that will supply PoE.
Do you need a controller or a licence to manage this access point?
No. It is configured from a web browser locally, or remotely through the Ruijie Cloud app and platform, with free management. SON technology sets up the network in three minutes and WIO optimisation adjusts channels and power in one click.
Does the connection drop when moving from one access point to another?
No, roaming is handled at both Layer 2 and Layer 3: the session stays open even when changing subnet. A call or transfer in progress is therefore not interrupted from one office to the next.
Can you extend coverage without running a new cable?
Yes, with Reyee Mesh: an additional access point links to the first one wirelessly. It must be powered on site, via PoE or a mains adapter, but you avoid running a network cable to the new location.
How many Wi-Fi networks can the RG-RAP2200(F) broadcast?
Up to 8 SSIDs, each with its own authentication mode, encryption and VLAN. An SSID can be hidden, the number of stations can be limited per network or per band, and Layer 2 isolation prevents guests from seeing one another.
What encryption protects this access point's Wi-Fi?
WPA2 (AES), WPA (TKIP) and WPA-PSK, with shared-key authentication. Static blacklists and whitelists also let you accept only known devices on the network.
Where can the RG-RAP2200(F) be installed?
Indoors, on the ceiling or wall, between 0 and 40 °C, at 5 to 95% non-condensing humidity. The housing measures 194 × 194 × 35 mm and weighs 450 g, with a single green LED that stays discreet once installed.
Can it replace a small organisation's router?
Yes, it works in access point mode or routing mode, with a static IP address, DHCP client or PPPoE connection. On a network that already has a router, leave it as a plain access point.
Is the equipment new and covered by a warranty?
