What exactly does the Classroom Bundle contain?

Two matched items: the Epson CO-W01 projector (reference V11HA86040) and the ORAY Cineflex wall screen with a 180 × 180 cm viewing area. The two are chosen to work together: there is no additional accessory to buy in order to project.

Why a projection screen rather than a wall painted white?

Because the screen's matte white fabric offers a perfectly flat, uniform surface: blacks are deeper, whites are cleaner and the image stays readable from the sides of the room. A painted wall, even a light one, absorbs and scatters light unevenly.

Can the bundle's wall screen be put away when the room is used for something else?

Yes, the fabric rolls up into its white lacquered steel case and stays out of sight between sessions. The case mounts on the wall or ceiling and can be recessed into a housing. You pull it down before the lesson, roll it up afterwards, and the room goes back to its usual use.

Why is the screen square when the projector displays in 16:10?

Because a manual screen in 1:1 format can be pulled down to the height you want: you lower the fabric until it reaches the height of the projected format, and the full 180 cm width is used. That is what lets it take a 16:10 presentation as well as a squarer document.

Is the bundle's CO-W01 projector easy to see in a lit classroom?

3,000 lumens of white and colour brightness alike, and 2,000 lumens in eco mode. 3LCD technology handles the three colours on three separate panels: no rainbow effect, and charts or graphs that keep their colours even in a partly lit room.

How far away should the Classroom Bundle's projector be installed?

Between 0.9 m and 10.4 m depending on the target image size, with a throw ratio ranging from 1.27 to 1.71:1 — that is, a distance of 1.27 to 1.71 times the image width. To fill the 180 cm width of the screen, allow roughly 2.30 m to 3.10 m of throw distance.

Do you need to add a speaker to use this bundle in a classroom?

Not to get started: the projector has a built-in 5 W speaker, enough for speech or an educational video in a quiet room. The HDMI input takes a laptop or a set-top box, and the USB-A port powers a media stick.

Does the projector have to be perfectly lined up with the screen?

No: keystone correction works over ± 30° vertically and horizontally. You can therefore place the projector off-centre from the screen — to get around a light fitting or a table — and still get a rectangular image, which makes installation easier in a room that has not been fitted out for it.

What maintenance should be expected on this bundle's projector?

Its 188 W UHE lamp is rated for 6,000 hours in normal mode and up to 12,000 hours in eco mode. At four hours of lessons a day, that leaves several years before the first replacement. The projector weighs only 2.4 kg for 295 × 211 × 87 mm.
