Frequently asked questions about this product

How far from the wall does the Epson EH-LS300B sit?
About forty centimetres for a 70-inch image: its ultra-short-throw lens has a throw ratio of 0.26 to 0.35:1. It therefore sits on a low cabinet pushed against the wall, in place of a TV, with no cable to run across the room.
Do you need a streaming box with the EH-LS300B?
No: Android TV and Chromecast are built in. Apps come through Google Play and YouTube, and a phone or computer can send its content directly via Chromecast. Wi-Fi is built in; there is no wired network port on the unit.
Can you use the EH-LS300B as a plain speaker?
Yes. You simply turn off the picture to use the sound only, or connect to it via Bluetooth as you would to a speaker. Its 20 W stereo speakers are by Yamaha and offer 3D surround sound.
Can you connect the TV soundbar to the EH-LS300B?
Yes, one of the two HDMI inputs supports ARC: the sound travels back over the same cable to a compatible soundbar or amplifier. A coaxial digital audio output is also provided for an older setup.
What image size do you get with the EH-LS300B?
From 61 to 120 inches, i.e. up to 3.05 m diagonally, in Full HD 1,920 × 1,080. This is the format designed to replace a living-room TV: a 120-inch image where a flat screen of that size practically does not exist.
Does the EH-LS300B support HDR?
Yes, HDR10 and HLG, with a contrast ratio of 2,500,000:1 and 3,600 lumens of white and colour brightness. HDR widens the gap between dark and bright areas: in a film or a match, shadow detail stays visible instead of merging into a flat block of black.
Does the EH-LS300B need a replacement lamp?
No, its light source is a laser, rated for 20,000 hours. That represents around ten years of home use: on a unit meant to replace a TV for everyday viewing, it removes any consumables over its useful life.
Is the EH-LS300B unobtrusive in a living room?
37 dB(A) in normal mode and 23 dB(A) in Eco mode, with power consumption of 215 W in normal use and peaks of 278 W. Note, however, the standby mode: it draws 2 W, as the Android TV system stays ready to start.
What is in the EH-LS300B box?
The unit, the power cable, the remote control with its batteries, the quick start guide and the manual on CD. You will need an HDMI cable if you connect a games console or a set-top box, as well as a cabinet able to bear its 7.2 kg against the wall.
Is the EH-LS300B projector new and under warranty?
Yes, new equipment, the invoice serving as the warranty document. The part number of this version is V11HA07140: this is the one to quote, as the EH-LS series comes in several finishes and resolutions.
