TP-Link TL-SG105S plug-and-play Gigabit switch: 5 × 10/100/1000 Mbps ports in a compact steel casing, to extend a home or small-office network with no configuration at all.
Ports: 5 Gigabit RJ45 ports with auto-negotiation and automatic MDI/MDI-X crossover — just plug in the cable and the switch detects and adapts.
Installation: steel casing that sits on a desk or mounts on a wall (wall-mounting kit included); external power adapter supplied. Works plug-and-play, no configuration required.

Frequently asked questions about this product

Can the TL-SG105S be configured with VLANs?
No: it is an unmanaged switch, with no configuration interface. You plug it in and it works. To segment a network into VLANs, you need a managed model; this one is for adding more ports behind an ISP router or a main switch.
Can this switch power an IP camera over PoE?
No, none of its five ports supplies power. A camera or Wi-Fi access point plugged into it needs its own power supply, or a PoE injector placed upstream on the link.
Can the TL-SG105S be wall-mounted?
Yes, wall mounting is supported and supplied. The case is made of steel, which makes it sturdier than a plastic desktop case and allows it to stay mounted in a utility cupboard or behind a piece of furniture.
How much power does this switch add to your consumption?
2.3 W at most, i.e. 7.83 BTU/h of heat: it can stay on permanently without weighing on your electricity bill or on a UPS. It runs on an external adapter, included, rated at 9 V and 0.6 A.
What performance does the TL-SG105S offer?
10 Gbps switching capacity and 7.4 Mpps, with a 2,000-entry MAC address table and 1 MB of buffer memory. All five ports negotiate their speed automatically and correct for crossover cables (MDI/MDI-X).
Does this switch support jumbo frames?
Yes, up to 16,000 bytes, which speeds up copies to network storage. 802.3x flow control and IGMP snooping are also active, with no settings to make.
How much space does the TL-SG105S take up?
99.8 × 97.8 × 25 mm: the size of a hand, 2.5 cm thick. It operates from 0 to 40 °C and sits on a desk, slips into a cabinet or screws onto a wall.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
Yes, new equipment, with the invoice serving as the warranty document. The box contains the switch, its power adapter, the rubber feet and the user guide. CE, FCC and RoHS certified.
