This product is covered for 3 years by a manufacturer's warranty (the brand's official warranty). Your iris.ma invoice serves as the warranty document: keep it safe.

Frequently asked questions about this product

What are the two SFP ports on the Instant On 1430 26G for?
They are two 1 Gbps SFP slots reserved for fibre uplinks: enough to connect a building, a floor or a remote room that copper cannot reach. With the 26 RJ45 ports, that brings the total to 28 ports. The optical modules are chosen according to the distance and the type of fibre.
Does this model need an external power adapter?
No, its power supply is internal: a simple mains cable is enough, with no power brick to find room for in the rack. It accepts 100-127 V as well as 200-240 V and draws 16.4 W maximum, 8 W at idle — all without a fan, so silently.
Can the network be segmented into VLANs with this switch?
No: the 1430 26G is unmanaged and has no configuration interface. There are no VLANs, no monitoring and no port settings — it switches traffic, and that is all. For a segmented or monitored network, you need a managed model; here, simplicity is the deliberate choice.
What MAC address table size does this 26-port model support?
16,384 entries, double that of the rest of the 1430 series, with a 12 MB packet buffer and 32 MB of flash memory. This is what enables it to handle a dense network — several hundred computers, printers and access points — without constantly relearning addresses.
Does voice traffic stay prioritised on an unmanaged switch?
Yes. Quality of service identifies packets marked with DSCP or IEEE 802.1p — VoIP and video first and foremost — and sends them ahead of the rest, without any configuration. At the same time, flow control prevents packet loss when a node is saturated.
Do 802.1X authentication frames pass through this switch?
Yes, 802.1X EAPOL frames are forwarded: connected workstations can still authenticate with the managed device located upstream. BPDU frames also pass through, which lets the network's spanning tree do its job above this switch.
Are jumbo frames supported for large transfers?
Yes, up to 9,216 bytes: large copies to a NAS or a backup server involve fewer packets to process. The network cards and the server must still be set to the same frame size, otherwise the gain will not show.
How much space does the 1430 26G take up, and at what temperature does it operate?
The chassis measures 388 mm wide, 225 mm deep and 44 mm high, and weighs 2.27 kg. It handles 0 to 40 °C and 15 to 95% non-condensing humidity, and operates up to 3 km altitude. Being fanless, it requires no filter maintenance.
What internal performance does this 28-port switch offer?
56 Gbps switching capacity and 41.68 Mpps forwarding rate, with auto-negotiation on every port. Gigabit runs in full duplex only, 10 and 100 Mbps accept half duplex, and automatic MDI/MDI-X removes the need for any crossover cable between two switches.
Is the switch new and covered by a warranty?
